MNSSHP Sellouts?

Other than the Halloween night itself, does MNSSHP routinely sell out before the day of?

I am particularly interested in Oct 14 and 16 this year - these would have been the Oct 15/17 nights last year (i.e. mid-month, Tues/Thurs nights).

We went Oct 15 last year, bought tickets well in advance and had a real good time - so we're thinking of doing it again. However (the little black rain cloud in me says), we've been very lucky with rain in our WDW experience, and I'm feeling pessimistic.

So, I was thinking of holding off on the ticket purchase until we arrive and have a better handle on the near-term weather forecast. But, if the nights routinely sell out, then I wouldn't wait and would just take a chance on the weather....

Any ideas if these mid-week/mid-month parties actually sell out?

TIA, Jeff

The last two years have not had rampant sell-outs of non 10/31 dates, due entirely to the drop in tourism post-9/11. Prior to that you may have had a problem getting the other dates had you waited until check-in, or even a few weeks prior. This year attendance is shaping up to be soft, so you would think that tickets will be readily available for dates other than 10/31. On the flip side it seems that this year they've targeted locals by adding more weekend dates than in years prior. Only 3 out of the 10 dates are on days M-Th, which are the least busiest days, with all of the others being Fri & Sun(which are popular with locals). Last year there were 7 dates, so my guess is that locals are coming out in droves, otherwise they wouldn't have increased capacity this year. This alone could play a big factor on ticket availability. With that said I highly advise ordering in advance just as soon as you confirm your dates so as to avoid dissapointment.

I've never attended before, but I'm really looking forward to going this year with my two boys. However, I'm still unsure of the dates I'm going, I've booked a fairytale package but may change the dates, so I'm too afraid to commit that much money until I know for sure. I'm going to wait until August, because after that, I will have to pay penalties for any changes to the FT pkg. I'll just cross my fingers on the rain issue.

This is our first time attending MNSSHP - and we'll definitely be there on Oct 14 (already got my tickets and PS for LTT). We may also attend on Oct 16, but I haven't bought those tickets yet.

I bought in advance because this is a moma and me trip for my little girl, and I wanted to be sure I got tickets for one of the parties. We've gone to three MVMCP; loved it, but last year, we got rained out at the party. Our Dec trips were short trips and it was the only night we could go.

I would rather take a chance and have the tickets for at least one of the shows to avoid disappointment.

Good luck deciding! We'll be there Oct 13-18, staying at the All Star Movies. When will yall be there - and where are you staying?

We will be there Oct 11-18, so either Oct 14 or 16 party would work for us... although Oct 14 works better in the plan for the week.

Magic2000 - Did you still go to MVMCP when it rained, or did you skip it and take the loss? If you went, how did you find being at the party in the rain?

We were at last years's MNSSHP on 10/25 when a deluge wiped out the 2nd parade. We still got our "drowned rat" photo which is pretty funny. I never knew that rain could hurt when you go down the big drop on Splash Mtn!! DS and I stuck it out riding Buzz several times in a row, and were given buckets of candy from CM's as the event came to a close. I had on Tevas, and boy was I glad as we waded through shin deep water between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Who knew drainage was so poor? OK I do know it's built on a swamp. We still had fun in the rain, but DS is a teen. I don't think the rain would be fun for little ones.

We'll be back even with a forecast of rain for the 24th--that's our only possible date.

When I bought our tickets the CM said they were going quick-- however that was for 10/31.
