Are all the restaurants and rides open during MNSSHP or just some?

Also, if I go in early (say 5pm) to eat dinner before the party starts... are all restaurants open or no? (Since they close the park at 6pm to non-partiers).

THANKS! :) :cool1:

You'll find a lot of the details from last year's event at:
http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mnssh.htm

"Most" attractions will be open, but not all -- you can count on the premier attractions but not necessarily on the peripheral stuff (and they seem to tinker with it a little every year).

A limited number of restaurants will be open during the party, but you can plan to eat early, certainly, and then hit the party.

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting that link. I found some great info there! I am so excited about taking my boys to MNSSHP for the first time this year!! :) Thanks! :wizard:

Eating at 5/5:30 is not a bad option. All the restaurants should be open at that time and you may pick up a little pixie dust...

If you eat an area that they shoo people out of (for party prep), you will be allowed to finish your dinner. After which, you may find that some of the attractions in the "closed" area are actually open between 6 and 7. It's all hit or miss and as mentioned, they fiddle with it every year.

Fast Pass is not available during MNSSHP but there's really no need for it. A wait shouldn't be more than 20 minutes and that will be for rides in Fantasyland at the beginning of the evening. In the past it always tended to clear out after the first parade and the fireworks.

When the park is "closed" between 6:00-7:00, are the rides still operating?

Only the rides in the one Land left open will be operating. Last year the land(s) left open were Frontierland and Adventureland...in the past it was always Tomorrowland.

The rest of the park is closed so they can clear it out and get it ready.

How crowded does the one area that is left open get between regular park closing and the reopening for the party? Are the crowds large enough that it would be time better spent dining or are they still relatively low even though all of those waiting for the party are funneled into that one area? TIA ! :thumbsup2

The crowd isn't bad.

The night we went there was a pretty good line for Buzz ,so we passed it and we went on Space Mountain instead. We rode it twice and watched some of the entertainment they had going on. A DJ some characters, kids dancing.I believe they actually let us out of there about 6:45pm.We headed for HM then.

Thanks Baloo!! Those are great bits of info to have. I am just so excited over my first MNSSHP. I LOVE halloween (even before I had kids...not the gory or super scary stuff...just the pumpkins and kids in costumes and carmel apples and hay bales...and well just about everything)and I love Disney I am on cloud nine :cloud9: thinking about combining them both and enjoying them with the kids.

Will they allow us to finish a counter service meal in a part of the park that closes down? :wave2:

Honestly, there were so many other things going on during MNSSHP, we didn't think much about rides until much later in the evening. People were lined up to see characters who were stationed all over and to get candy from the pass-out stations. Hallowishes was AMAZING, you need to position yourself in front of the castle for the full effect. After Hallowishes, the villains perform a stage show and sign autographs... and the headless horseman rides, too...

One we had gotten our fill of candy we walked onto most of the rides, and we rode Splash Mountain 3 times in a row without getting off. Carrying the bags of candy can wear the kids out, so can costumes that aren't 100% comfortable, so bring t-shirts for later or start out that way. We bought halloween themed glitter shirts from Target instead of costumes. It rained a bit the night we were there, so we were thankful.

5 or 5:30 is a great time for ADRs on MNSSHP. I was glad we arrived at dinner time, spending the whole day there and then trying to do the party and candy bags at night would have been a lot...

Have a GREAT time!!!

I am going to go trick or treating :cool1: . I have never done that and am going to have fun, dress up and get some sweats!!!!!!!

I have an ADR for LTT at 4:15 on Oct. 5th. I'm planning to do MNSSHP, but I'd like to bump my reservation to a later time. Has anyone ever done this successfully? Because when I tried to make a later ADR, they said that was the latest they had, as the park was closing at 6... and that they didn't know for sure yet if they would be open during MNSSHP..... ?
