MNSSHP replaced by After Hours Event "Boo Bash"

I haven't received an email from them yet either. I am staying on my own points at Beach Club so I'm going to assume it's a timing thing.

I would do it. My daughter and I both love Halloween and were fortunate to be able to attend MNSSHP on Halloween night when she was 13. It is one of my favorite memories and something we still talk about. We have not found a way to do it again since then and are so glad we did it when we could. We also were able to do Villains After Hours a few years later and it is our second favorite thing we've done at Disney. I hope you have a wonderful time if you decide to go!

Im leaning that way. YOLO. Lol. I’m 70% yes. It’s all a surprise too. She knows I want to take her this year but she’s not sure it’ll happen. I’ll tell her around august or so.

what is disney smoking? double the price for half the experience? am definitely out. there are plenty of other trick or treating opportunities in orlando area for my grandson and family members. sorry disney but you are nuts. am sorry that i think this is what's to come since according to chapek the stockholders need to get a return but this is rediculous

Just incredible. Is it they have money to burn? Fear of missing out? Primal desire to make a family memory?

Just wondering what Disney's tapped into here (and consequently what the future of Disney looks like). What if the tickets were say $249 a person? A thousand bucks for a family of four? Would they still pay?
One day tickets at dlr are about that and people do pay.

So torn. We have Ft. wilderness reservations in October for my daughter's birthday. We loved the MNSSHP in 2019 (our first year going). If we buy tickets, that will be our only Disney park day of the trip (Universal is selling season passes to military for $200 a person, so we will be over there most of the time).

If there are complimentary snacks (other than trick or treat candy), I may try to load up on those :)

Are tickets only available via phone?

MNSSHP was never cheap, but the year we went, my family and I thought the event was worth it. The castle show, parade, fireworks, rare meet-and-greets...all of it made the price tag (high, but) acceptable. I do not see the Boo Bash worth its price. What more are you getting? A cavalcade? Candy?!

One of the blogs did a comparison of prices for Not So Scary in 2019 vs Boo Bash. MNSSHP started at $79 in advance for the cheapest ticket. Boo Bash is $129 for the cheapest ticket. MNSSHP was definitely cheaper and you got more too.

I believe the prices are more in line with VAH since this is a DAH event.

If you're military, are you doing your free annual Seaworld day this year (I think active can book any day, not like Vets who had to be May/June) - you could trick or treat there...

For those saying you "get more" from the parties, it depends on what you want. If you want special things like parades, dance parties, etc., then yes, you get more from the parties. If you want multiple rides with little to no wait, I believe you get more from the after hours events. We did Villains After Hours and MVMCP in the same year and at VAH we were able to ride far more rides in a shorter amount of time than we did at MVMCP.

This.
We've done them all (VAH, DAH, MNSSHP & MVMCP)
For rides, we prefer the AHs, for obvious reasons. Crowd wise, DEFINITELY AHs. The only thing I wish they were doing were pieces of the BTY parade as cavalcades. Gonna miss gravediggers and the skeleton band. But will not miss the crowds at all. :)

So I'm in the position where I feel I have to go. I have young kids and I'm specifically taking them to Disney for Halloween. That means I will need to she'll out $1000 for my family of five to go unless I want to take them trick or treating randomly around Orlando, which wouldn't fly since they knew we were going to Disney to trick or treat. The kicker is my kids will be 8, 5, and 3 so staying up that late is a real challenge. It's a catch 22.

I would not do this event and instead come up with a creative way to make Halloween special- they can wear their costumes during the day, you could let them bring candy to the parks or plan for some special "Halloween" family dinner or dessert. There are tons of little ways you could make this fun without paying for the party. Last Halloween we went to the beach and because of COVID we didn't trick or treat- we put up some spider webs, hid candy all over the beach house and watched Halloween movies. The kids (9/7/4) loved it.

ETA- nothing against the party, just no way would I pay so much to take my kids out that late. There's a good chance they'd melt down (or at 3, sleep through it), and the next day would be really unpredictable.

There is also a difference for those with aps or length of stay tickets with park hoppers. There is no added advantage for those people to come in at 7. But for those with out those and low wait times it can be very worth it.
