Ok, looking for some tips, we are going on the Friday Sept 11th, and I want to dress my 2 DD's up, but I'm worried that the princess dresses are going to be way too hot for them?

Also, and tips for the adults would be great too.

Thanks!

We are going on the 11th too! what are your dining plans? I am hoping I can get into Liberty Tree for an early dinner before the party starts!

I made tie dye t shirts for us. I think it will be way to hot for costumes this time around so i just made everyone matching shirts. My son is insisting that he will be WALL-E and I said now way, cuz you'll be too hot and you won't fit on any rides. That is if we could even FIND a wall-e costume!:rotfl:

you could go as mouseketeers, although if you want something original, that might not be the best choice. I must have seen 400 mouseketeers the last time i went.

This spring the Disney Store had princess costumes that were like ballerina costumes, so they were short skirted and sleeved, yet still very princessy. That could be cool enough for MNSSHP......we went last year and it was definately warm and humid. Check out your local Disney Store....they are likely on clearance!

My daughter is wearing one after our BBB appt in June, so we will see how it is for HOT weather!

WaltMart has really cute Halloween t-shirts. I just bought everyone a tshirt and we wore shorts last year. We went the end of Sept and it was still very warm. I would have been very uncomfortable in a costume.

I'm having my 2 daughters be June & Annie form Little Einsteins. Short dresses, with short sleeved shirts underneath, coordinating shoes and a headband! :)

Not much different than what they'd wear normally. :)

We are going on the 11th also (still need to get the tickets though). I am begging my boys to be phineas and ferb- not too hot!

Not too sure if you are looking to purchase something, but lots of the disboutiquers make princess inspired sundresses out of cotton. They sell them on etsy.

On this day we are actually having breakfast at the castle, will hopefully do a short am run through the park, have lunch, go back to the resort pools and relax (hopefully nap!), then have supper at the hotel (POP) before we go to the party. I want the girls to be able to stay awake long enough to see the fireworks. :)

We just wore Halloween tshirts .It was sweltering hot and humid..I felt so bad for the little ones whose parents put them in those furry costumes. It was simply too hot.

we are going the 11th too. I am leaning toward just wearing t shirts my son wants to be peter pan and daughter tink which would be cool enough but even that is warm.

can't decide on liberty tree (never been)
or
crystal palace (been for breakfast)

what do you think?

The Disney princess costumes are too hot.

My niece wore one last year and I brought a change of clothes as she got too hot. Last year I picked up a cheaper thiner Cinderella costume (after Halloween) that she can wear this year if she wants.

I am lucky because my DD loves HSM. A perfect outfit she wears year after year is the East High Cheerleader. She wears shorts under her skirt so nothing shows and she is cool with sleeveless top and skirt. She also wears white sneakers which is big for all the trick or treating. Comfy shoes no sore feet....big plus.
Either way it is the best party they have. Good luck they have great people here with great ideas.

Never been to Crystal Palace(its on our list) but we love Liberty Tree. Its kind of like a tradition with us to go there the day of the party.

We are doing AK in the morning. Just going to ride EE and Kilimanjaro then going back to ASMu for swim time and a nap. My boys are 7 and 2 and while we probably won't be at the party til midnight, we should be there until 10 or so

What about Minnie Mouse. You can put her in a red and white polka dot dress, headband style ears & yellow shoes. They do an adorable Minnie Mouse face paint design in all of the parks that would be a perfect match to the costume.

My younger DD wants to be Lilo...so just a Hawaiian dress, easy and cool. My older DD wants to be Hanna Montana, we are still working on that one!

Well, I think it might be a good idea to dress them up in shorts/tee shirts in pink or light green or purple and just buy some fairy wings and a cheap magic wand for them to carry. I think that might do!:cool1:

A few years ago, DH and I dresses up as Red Sox fans, so easy and comfy. You could do that with you and the kids.
We had a hat and shirt, also put baseball stickers on our shirts and shorts and DH had a foam #1 hand.

We did the Pirates and Princesses Party in August 2007. My girls wore princess sundresses with crowns. It was as cool as could be and comfortable.

I felt the same way about costumes when we went last year.
I had gorgeous dresses made for my DDs out of Disney Halloween fabric. They were full and twirly and had a big bow in back. They were a HUGE hit at the party! Every CM and character made a big deal out of them and we didn't see any others dressed this way.
I put their hair up in custom bows and they looked so great.

I used a designer on Ebay- but there are some similar dresses I've seen on Etsy, and the designers here on the family board are great too!

we've been going to MNSSHP for the past several years and this is what I learned -- the hard way. :guilty: Living in PA Halloween is cold here! Not so much in FL. I dressed my kids up in typical Halloween costumes the first year and they were miserable & too hot! After some trial and error we decided on Disney PJ Pals jammies. They come in lots of character themes, the kids are comfy and cool and when you get back to the room -- they're already in their jammies! :thumbsup2

we went the 16th last year and it wasnt too hot for my daughter to wear her costume that night. She didnt put it on until that evening.

She dressed as Alice. The walkway from tomorrowland to Mickeys Toon Town is an Alice and Wonderland tea party, with all the Alice charaters there (rotating every 1/2 hour) They made a HUGE deal of my daughter in her Alice costume.

By the end of the night, all she wanted to do was to go back to that walkway and see those characters again
