MNSSHP quietest days?

When checking the crowd calendars for Magic Kingdom the quietest days are on the party days, but I'd heard that they were the busiest days? Would you recommend doing Magic Kingdom all day if we were going to the party in the evening?

From what I read a lot of people take it easy on the day they are going MNSSHP. The party runs from 7p until 12a and you can get in MK at 4pm with your ticket. I have also read the opposite that MK is not that crowded the day of parties since it closes so early. You could always rest up that day, get to MK at 4pm and enjoy the park right into the party that night.

As PP said, I have also heard that MK is less busy on days of MNSSHP because of the early closing time. DH and I will be going to MNSSHP but won't be doing a park at all that day - just hanging out at the resort or DTD.

HTH

We have found Party days are LESS busy than regular full park days. Most people aren't willing to spend a full days admission on a park that is closing early and no Fireworks/night time show for the dayguests. If we are going to the party though ,we use earlier in the day as a rest day, get to the park at 4pm and stay till the end.For us It is too long a day to go from opening till 12am, but we have a younger child

I see your point about not going in too early but as this is the only day we will be going to magic kingdom I can't help but wonder if we will fit in the rides we want to otherwise? Unless of course we go to magic kingdom on the morning of another day where we end up at Hollywood studios for Fantasmic? :confused3 so little time so much to do!

If you are going to do a park during the day anyway, do Magic Kingdom. You won't waste time in transportation, and MK is **far** les crowded on party days, since people don't want to use a full admission just to leave early.

Note that MK gets very crowded on non-MNSSHP days to compensate for this - so plan accordingly.

If possible find out when CMs get discounted MNSSHP tickets, because I've found that night to be very busy and actually sold out. This was toward the end of September last year. We had gone in 2010 and love it, crowds were low, we talked it up pretty big to my sister and her family so we all went last year and it has a big let down for us and them.

Uggh I agree, we were there on the last CM discount night in Sept and it was a madhouse. The worst most crowded party experience we have ever had. Bad enough to make me say never again to MNSSHP.

In Dec we went to a full price no discount no CM entrance MVMCP (thanksgiving weekend to boot) and it was the complete opposite. I now will just consider losing the $5-10 discount on the tickets as a premium to pay for lower crowds.

As far as park days the parks are way less crowded on party days than non party days. We travel during party season every year and don't always attend the parties but make sure to hit MK at least once on a party day to take advantage of the lower crowds.

I have a little one (DD4) and so we take the morning and afternoon off and then hit MNSSHP. If she were a tween or teen we'd definitely be there all day long with no breaks. We noticed that the crowds were around the hubs cuz of Hallowishes and the Parade, but everywhere else in the park was not crowded at all and we go on the 31st every time.

We have been to many, many parties, and have never seen a truly busy one, although I do hear the party on Halloween night is busier than most.

WDW limits the amount of guests who can attend the parties, so the crowds don't get too large.

Even on the nights I've visited that the parties were sold out, I didn't notice a problem with crowds. Rides always seem to be 15 minutes or less, because the guests are busy with the special events.

I would definitely NOT stay all day and night ~ it gets exhausting! We tried that one year, well, we went to a water park all day, then dinner and the party and I've never been so tired!

You can get in earlier than 7pm, usually 4pm, sometimes earlier, so that gives you a full day's worth of fun, with 8 hours.

Hope this helps, and have fun! MNSSHP is the BEST! :wizard:

why burn two tickets on one day??? you would use a regular admission ticket in the AM and then you would have to go back up front to get banded and use your other ticket because without the band you could not ride any rides, eat or shop after 7...do you have little ones who could go from 9 AM to 12 PM???? not too many kids I've seen can and if you have older adutls neither can they lol....:hippie:

We used the day of the MNSSHP (and will again this year) to hit up AK. It closes early anyway so we go early then back to the resort for a bit to change and rest. Then head out to the HP. Makes for a more enjoyable day.

Actually, without the band you will be asked to leave. This is not like EMH.

But as others are saying, most non party guests avoid the MK because they lose a few hours of park time but mostly because there is no night time parade or fireworks.

As a general rule, I try to avoid ANY sort of discount night figuring it will just attract more people. Yes, they limit the tickets, but it's such a crazy high number I wouldn't rely on that to keep crowds down. They don't announce the number. I have a hunch it's because it grows over time.

Yes, on a sold out night the ride lines are short. But most don't go to the parties to do rides. Most go to do the special things they can't do during a regular park day (character greets, parade and fireworks). These lines get crazy long on a sold out night.

We usually DO the MK on a party day because 1) if you're on a multi-day park pass, the extra days are only $8 and 2) you can be back in the back of the park when the front of the park is busy with folks coming and going. In fact, we usually schedule a nice table service dinner around 4 so we can rest, get off our feet and plan our evening.

I too would like to know how to find out which party nights are discounted for CM's so I an avoid them if possible.

NEVER ....... go on a Friday.

So, just to be clear, if you show up at 4 pm with a ticket for the Halloween party, you can do all the rides until the party starts at 7?

You could then essentially save using a day of your parkhoppers?

What was the date of the party you attended? I'm planning on going to the second party (Friday 14th) and wondered if this could be one of the discounted CM party nights.

During the week that we are there (Oct. 20-27), MNSSHP is listed for Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We are debating on which day to go and have it narrowed down to Sunday or Tuesday...any suggestions on which one will be the less crowded, or is it a 6/half-dozen situation?

That's the same week as us. :)
