you don't sound like an idiot at all, it's complicated!

MNSSHP only occurs on select dates that you can find here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/halloween.htm

The MK will close at 7 p.m. to people who don't have halloween party tickets.

MNSSHP only take place on certain nights. Check HERE for dates.

On party nights, the regular park hours are until 7 pm, after that you will need a separate Halloween party ticket to stay.

Yeah, it's a separate hard ticket event. If you want to go, but the tickets from the link the PP put up!

MNSSHP takes place on specific nights. On those nights, the MK closes to regular park guests promptly at 7. If you have MNSSHP tickets you will be issued wristbands, those without wristbands will be politely but firmly shown the exit beginning at 7.

Halloween party ticketed guests get a wristband. Guests without wristbands are not allowed access to stores, restaurants or attractions during the party hours, and are asked to leave the park if they are seen without a wristband.

Yep, they even had people between lands asking to see wristbands at the beginning of the party.

The Halloween party is what's called a "hard ticketed event". That means you must have purchased a separate admission to attend the party. Regardless of how many days you have on your daily admission ticket or even if you have an annual pass, everyone pays to get in those nights. Parties are not included in any type of regular theme park admission.

The official hours are 7-12, but you can get in as early as 4. The Halloween character lines will only admit those with wristbands (you get these when you enter the gates) for the party will be able to get in line. If you don't have a wrist band you will not be able to go on any attractions, or do much of anything. Cast members "sweep" their areas for day guests without wrist bands.

The party takes place Sept. 20,23,27,30 and Oct. 2,6,7,10,11,13,16,18,2,21,23,25,27,28,30,31 and Nov.1.
So on those evenings, you have to leave the park by 7 p.m., unless you have a ticket to that night's party.
I hope that helps!! Have fun!
