i didnt see a post for this subject-- anyone hear this?

i hear they are changing the time the park closes to the public to 7pm! :guilty:

just changed my 9/22 ADR for tonys to 5:25 from 4:30-- wanted to make it later- but nothing left.

anyone have more info?

The hours for our date has changed as well. We'll be at MNSSHP on 9/15...MK was scheduled to close at 6pm, it's now closing at 7pm.

So what you are saying is the party now starts at 8 pm? Where did you hear this?
The calendar at disneyworld.com still lists the party as starting at 7pm (at least for my date it does so I'm assuming it's the same for the others), but the official closing of the park is also at 7pm.

I'm going to check our date. I don;t know why this is confusing me!

i am also SOOOOOOOO confused. it seems they are not kicking out the non-party people early-- thats what i got from all of this.

if the park closes at 7pm- and our party starts at 7-- this is going to be a mess!

i am sure someone out there has much better info than what i am "trying" to give.

HELP!

I think its a mistake (as mentioned at Mouseplanet.com) or they are somehow changing the procedure but either way, they will do their best to clear out the park of non-party guests.

I'm not going to worry about it till September.

I really wouldnt worry about it - you're going and nothing will change that - go for the love and magic of Disney, if you go expecting crowds, when you see crowds... well, you'll have an awesome attitude, try not to let "them" crowd out your feelings for an AWESOME TIME!!

There will always be those that can and do get around the "system", shoplifters, test cheaters, tax cheats... but dont let "them" in your good time!!

You can get in the park at 4, so you dont have to use a "day" ticket...

thanks eeyore for the pep talk.....i love ya man!

You don't have to change your ADR (reservation) unless the restaurant itself is closing early to everybody.

They don't have CM's doing a tremendous herding* of people out the turnstiles other than what naturally occurs at park closing.

All that you will notice, if you straggle, is that you won't be allowed on rides unless you are registered for the party and got your wristband. (Anyone already in line when the closing hour hits will be allowed to ride.)

Disney hints:

*Like people standing ridiculously outside well marked pay parking areas waving flags or sticks at cars passing by.

Main Street, though is another story. The CMs there are very good at getting those without wristbands to head to the gates. I've seen it firsthand.

If this is true - then things will be a mess. I can see a lot of people who do not have tickets - hanging around in order to see the parade. Not very fair in my opinion.
When I was at the parks this March - I was so happy to enjoy some extra magic hours and had my band. I saw several people who did not have bands and were turned away at several rides. However, they still got to enjoy the parades and BE at the park. I thought the point of the EMH was to have the park to ourselves. I hope this is not true since we are going to the MNSSHP on Oct. 27th and heard that it is a busy date as it is...

i just thought i would change it since the party started later- i would dine a bit later. my orig ressies were for 4:30. and if the party does not now start til 7- i didnt want to wander around for that long just waiting for it to start.

but i guess if we get done early enough we can take a walk on over to the poly for some drinkies!

But the party always started at 7:00p (at least since 2000). That hasn't changed. Also, people will still be able to get in after 4:00p with just their party tickets. That hasn't changed either.

Exactly. For some reason the website has change the official closing time to 7:00p...which I'm guessing is a mistake, but the start time of the party is still the same.

We'll definitely know by Sept 15 what the scoop is.

Lol, yeah, we'll be the guinea pigs & report back. :)
