This is the first time my family has vacationed during the mnsshp. We will be arriving on 10/31. Everything I have read suggests that 10/31 is entirely too busy because it is the last night, etc. I'm wondering if we should plan to enjoy that night at FW instead. Are there Halloween activities at FW? Has anyone been there during this time to comment on either option?

Thanks

I do think that MK would be crowded. They probably sell out on Halloween night; besides having all the tourists, the locals are there too. Do a search on this forum for Halloween or MNSSHP and you will find bookoodles of information. I remember from posts last year that FW does not have organized Halloween activities but the FW guests sometimes hand out candy. I know that if we were there halloween, we would trick or treat and hand out goodies! The sites are decorated so take your decorations! Even the golf carts get decorated.

We are arriving 10/31 also. MIL, dd6, dd4 and I are all going to MNSSHP -- even if it is crowded I think it will be worth it. FIL and DH are going to setup camp and relax from the drive. We are bringing treats to hand out in case they have trick or treaters at the RV. I think there is also a "haunted" hayride running that night at the campground. Either way I'm sure your family will have fun! :)

If you don't go to the park find a seat down by the dock and watch all the guest in there outfits. You see some really neat getups. Also if you plan on going to the park you better order your ticket now!!!!The hayride is cool also the have Chip & Dale at the movies to hand out treats. This is are favorite time to go.
We have a blast. See you there.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I think that we are going to try and get tickets. Even if it is crowded, sounds like we will have a great time and it will be worth it.

You are getting a bargain by going to MNSSHP!!! We went last year and although their stated hours start at 6pm you can actually get into the park at 4pm. So you are getting 8 hours of park for 1/2 of what a days ticket would cost! You can do some searches here to find the conversations about getting in early at MNSSHP. Also, you get your free photo made and if you have young kids, stroller rentals are FREE on those nights! We didn't know this and it was a pleasant surprise not to have to dish out for two strollers.
One note, we did find that trying to "trick or treat" in MK was a bit too much. I did not think they had enough people handing out candy and I didn't want to wait in lines just to get one piece of candy (I can go to Walmart and buy a whole bag in 20 min's time!) so after a few of these stops, we dedicated the night to rides (we went mid-October) and most things were no wait, just hop on and go! Have fun!
