We are driving down on Sun Oct 26th

I know that check-in is at 3pm (but we all know we can sometimes get our rooms sooner.)

I was thinking of getting to the resort at 2-3 ish. Going to the room and changing clothes, maybe a quick nap or shower...whatever we needed to do. Then heading out for a quick service dinner. Either at the resort or MK.

Since the MNSSHP dosen't start until 7 are we really missing much by not getting to the park at the 4pm entrance time?

Just curious if others have done this?

If you're tight on time then there isn't much you can do about it. However, I personally would get to the party as soon as they let you in between 3 and 4. The tickets are expensive and in order to get the most out of the night for whatever it is your family enjoys doing, you'll need to be in the park much earlier than 7, especially Halloween week when crowds will be larger. Meet and greets, candy trails, character dances, ride lines will be busy if you come right at 7. If you're planning to catch the first parade and hallo wishes, you'll want to get some things done first so you can grab a decent viewing spot. Just my opinion and as I mentioned, it depends what your families priorities are. You will have fun no matter what!!:thumbsup2

It depending on what you are hoping to accomplish before the party starts. Historically, guests have been allowed to enter MK at 4:00 pm using the MNSSHP tickets, but none of the party activities will start until 7:00 pm. Some of the more popular character lines will begin to form before 7:00 pm, but they won't start forming right at 4:00 pm. If you only focused on the MNSHHP activities, then getting to the MK at 4:00 pm is not really necessary. I would plan to get there somewhere between 5:00 and 6:00, just so you're already in the park and ready to go when the party starts.

We've done that a few times. Last year we had a cursed trip so I can give you some 'just in case' advice:
Don't pack party supplies or costumes in a bag that you expect to get via Magical Express.
Be prepared to change in a hotel bathroom.
Have your party tickets on you.
Be prepared to split your group, with one adult checking into the hotel, while the other takes the kids to the party.
Pack a sky picnic for the plane or get something in the car so that if you're pressed for time, you don't have to eat at the party.
Realize that several CS restaurants in MK are closed during the party. If you have a picky eater plan accordingly.

Honestly, I think parties are a great way to spend the first day. :) Good Luck!
