i will be in WDW for 17 days in october. i have done the Mickeys Christmas party and thought it was ok. didnt have so many days so enjoyed the extra hours. all i keep hearing is MNSSHP is way better than MVMCP....so i caved in yesterday and got a ticket. going with 2 older aunts who only want to stay about 6-7 days so i got a ticket for about 2 nights before i leave. (they thought it was too much $$$)

ok ...so now... anyone who has done MICKEYS NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY... what is a not miss? all i really know is the parade (watch for the headless horseman) treats for kids in costume (really dont care about that) and fireworks...aside from halloween decorations, what should i look for? dont want to get back and find out i missed some great stuff..

:confused3 DETAILS PLEASE FROM ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN THERE.....

Well, what are you looking to do? The park itself, especially Main Street, has an incredible Halloween vibe to it (fog, lights, eerie music). The villians are out and about, Jack & Sally have a meet and greet, and other rare characters can easily be found. You'll be able to walk onto any attraction, save for HM, if you're in the mood to ride something. For us, Boo To You and HalloWishes make MNSSHP so special; they really are incredible to watch. It's also fun to see people's costumes.. some go all out and look downright fantastic.

We always ignore the treats (I can buy that candy at home) and head straight for the special baked goods. There are cupcakes, treats, and desserts only available on party nights. Yum!

Another only on party nights event is Madame Leota in front of HM. She's a hoot. You'll probably get to hear her while you stand in line, but if you don't take a minute to stop and listen.

Even if you don't usually play the special party Scorers of the Magic Kingdom card is nifty.

I'm a bit of a shutterbug (wow is that term out of date) so I really enjoy taking nighttime shots of the near empty park. Last year, even on a sold out night, parts of Adventureland were completely empty. Would've made for great spooky shots.

The biggest don't miss for me is the parade and the fireworks. Really the MNSSHP fireworks are the best ones. :)

We usually just try to hit the rare characters, see the Villain's show, parade (2nd one always) and fireworks.

Many people are saying skip the candy but I say the opposite, its worth getting especially late in the afternoon. I did 5 sweeps thru the line, filled up a bag and a half and had over 4 lbs of candy. I took it home to happy trick or treaters and co workers. It was worth the 15 minutes of my time.

thanks guys... :thumbsup2 i have plenty of time for rides other days...so was hoping to catch some of the villians or stuff that wont be there during the regular days.... i am also a shutterbug.... back in the day would use 35 rolls of film...now with digital last trip was over 1,400 pix...

The parade, the fireworks, the stage show, the villains. These, to me, are what makes this party worth going to.

this will be our first time at any hard ticket event so all I can chime in with is I hope the reports of rides being walk on's (for the most part) hold true!:thumbsup2 We have seen the July 4th fireworks and they are still the #1 display in our books, I am hoping the Halloween one's are just as awesome, and my absolute fav holiday is Halloween and L-O-V-E the Villain's..so for me, low crowds to enjoy the atmosphere of Halloween is worth going!

I'm in your boat I have down MVMCP twice and never MNSSHP. I have been dreaming of going to this party for years! My plan is to ride all the rides with minimal waits while hitting up all the candy stops. I am going to watch the fireworks and the 2nd parade and if I happen to come across a character with little to no wait I will stop but not prioritizing characters.

I am going for the first time this year, but no one had mentioned the dance parties which I am really looking forward to. My son is a mentally handicapped adult and is big into characters, but is often at a loss how to interact with them, so I thought just dancing with characters would be really fun for him. Hope I can get some good pictures of that!!!

We did one of the dance parties at the Christmas party last year. My little boys really enjoyed that. It was kind of a cool way to interact with the characters.

The fireworks are AMAZING! We really enjoyed the villains dance party, the parade, and the rare characters also:)

We tried the MNSSHP for the 1st time last year. Loved it so much we are coming back to this Oct and can't wait.

1-Hallowishes are truly spectacular.
2-Boo to you parade is amazing and worth getting an early seat in the front.
3-Costumes, really are fun to wear and people watch.
4-Rides. We rode all of our favorites with little to no wait.
5-Candy, lots of candy at the end of the event. Our bag was stuffed full.
6-Magic shots were really fun and worth the line.
7-Villains Mix and Mingle, great fun show.
8-Characters, many rare ones out for autographs.

We watched the Villains show, Boo to you and Hallowishes from in front of the castle and thought it was a perfect spot for all of them. Hallowishes has great castle projections and sitting in front of the castle made for a perfect spot to see everything.

We are not so much into characters, but really liked the dance party in Tomorrowland and did wait for Jack Sparrow.

We did the magic shots early for little wait in the lines.

The Haunted Mansion is a must do at night. We rode x3 and enjoyed the lady out front (can't remember her name) She is a hoot!

We did not do the candy until the end of the night, as we did not want to lug it around. There are lots of candy trails and found them to not be crowded at all.

Come at 4 and take advantage of the entire party. We went to a different park in the AM and took a good nap and then out to MK by 4PM and stayed till it was over. Rode Splash Mountain right up until midnight by with no one else in the queue.

As someone who has done both MVMCP and MNSSHP, I have to say MNSSHP is by far the better!!! I agree that the Boo to You parade and Hallowishes are amazing and worth the price of the ticket!! Also, I agree with the villains. They have an awesome show and a great meet and greet afterwards. Don't forget to do the Photopass pictures by HM! They put in ghosts from the ride. Our pictures were really cool. Madame Leota was also hilarious!! You truly won't be disappointed!!:thumbsup2
