I am planning on attending the MNSSHP on October 6th. I currently have reservations for O'Hanna's at 5:30pm for dinner... do you think that is enough time to eat and get back for the party or should I make my reservation for an earlier time? I don't want to eat in MK that day since we are doing a CRT dinner earlier in the week and LLT does not interest me. :confused3

If you could get it a little earlier that would be better but you should still make it at the party start time.

You'll hopefully be done by 6:30p, 6:40p then you'll need time to get to MK so you'd probably get to MK by 7:00p when the park re-opens.

Since MNSSHP starts at 7:00, you should be able to finish dinner and be there by opening.

BTW, please note the restaurant is named 'Ohana (with the ' in front).

We did that time last year while staying at the Poly. We actually had time to return to the room and get the kids dressed and still made it by right around 7PM. I'm debating the same thing. This year we'll be checking into the WL that same day. Would love to do Ohana but think tha tWCC might be a better option from our resort or even the dreaded counter service :earseek:

I would say to try and go earlier. It took us 25min to be seated even with our PS in May when we went to Ohana's. If that is the case for you, it would be tough. I would opt for 4:30pm and get to MNSSHP early, esp if your kids won't be able to stay up too late.

We too are going on the 6th and have booked the Concourse Steakhouse - earliest ressie is 5:30 and they don't do lunch so I can't book earlier unless we change restaurants. I also figure with monorail going through contemporary then transportation shouldn't be too difficult. Only downside is I think I'm going to have to put the kids in costume before dinner or pack a bag. I figure with reopening at 7pm we should be okay to get into park about reopen time and my kids are night owls like me so they'll probably be okay into at least the 10pm parade!

Monorail transportation is quite reliable - much quicker than a bus to another resort- and I have often spent the day in MK, gone to 'Ohana for dinner and returned for the last hour or two before Wishes. If you would like to linger over pina coladas, order seconds and order a specialty dessert, you might be cutting it close, but otherwise your plan sounds fine. Enjoy 'Ohana! It's a favorite of mine (and dbf!) :sunny:

I'd walk to MK from the CR rather than taking the monorail. It will probably be quicker since sometimes you have to wait a while for a monorail to come by and then the monorail will make 3 stops before getting you to MK.

This is exactly what we did last year. A 5:30 reservation at 'Ohana, then the monorail to MNSSHP.

After dinner, we were on the monorail and in the Magic Kingdom in 10 minutes tops.

Worked like a charm.
