MNSSHP Map and Photos

Thanks so much for the review. I'm sure I will have a blast at my first MNSSHP on the 6th. We should be in Orlando in 6 hrs  :Pinkbounc :cool1:

We saw the Headless Horseman before the start of the second parade, BUT he must've rode in a good 10-15 minutes beforehand. It seemed like they were having some difficulties in getting the parade started, from the sounds of it. The HH was fantastic though---his horse was gigantic!

Didn't seem like there were more ToT spots this year, although that's what I'd been hearing. And although I haven't looked too closely at the bags yet this morning, it seemed like most of it was the same type of candy as last year (Nestle products). But the CMs were, for the most part, pretty generous with the candy. :rotfl:

Hallowishes was amazing! Nothing like a little "scary-oke" to start things off. :rotfl: I do highly suggest you try to get seats close to the castle though, since a lot of the effects are on or directly affect the castle.

The thing that worked out best for us was to go eat as soon as we got in the park, then staked out our seats for the fireworks. Then we stayed put right at the parade route for the 2nd parade. We were right near the castle, so we could see the Villians show between the fireworks & the parade perfectly, which gave the kids a bit of entertainment while we waited.

If you've got children, try to make sure they're right at the edge of the parade route, at the ropes. CMs hand out a lot of candy before & during the parade. :)

We spent the rest of our time in Fantasyland after the 2nd parade--we normally skip the whole area because it's always so crowded, but just about every ride in that area was a walk-on. The most we spent in line was about 8 minutes (for Peter Pan & Pooh).

One word of warning---even though it is a hard ticket event, they *will* be checking bags still! I can't tell you how many people I overheard grumbling about that. Rules don't change just because you paid extra for it! :rotfl:

Overall, it was a blast. It's not an event to be a park commando though, so do try to take it slow & take it all in....then plan another full day at MK to be a commando. :flower:

Okay...I'm going to appear REALLY stupid here but I get so mixed up with all these abbreviations used on here (trying to keep a little notepad so I can read reviews) but what does MNSSHP stand for?

Thank you to anyone who can help this old lady out!! :confused3

Can't wait. Thanks for all the great info. We really want to see the Headless Horseman!

We also went last night. Although we had fun, I will probably not go again. The fireworks were pretty close to the best I have ever seen, the parade was good, I wish it would have been a little longer. We did not see the headless horseman and we were sitting on main street at 10 exactly, the parade did not get to us until about 10:15. We saw the villians in Fantasy land, but those were the only characters that we saw. Trick or treating lines were long and it was not worth standing in line especially for what they gave out. The nice thing was, as we were leaving the park, Cast members were stopping people telling them that their bags were not full enough and sent us over to other Cast members that had HUGE wheeled bins of candy. You just took your bag to them and they filled it for you.

There were sooooooo many people, and although lines for rides were not long, We could not stop and look at anything without getting ran into. We felt like cattle being herded.

When we went to MVMCP when it first started, it was great, you could walk around, enjoy the decorations, have your picture taken, and just enjoy the environment. I miss that. There are way too many people now in my opinion. No flames please. We are reconsidering our decision to buy tickets for this years MVMCP.

BTW, I am pretty sure that the stroller rentals were free.

Is it just me or did no one else see on the map where the photos are being taken? Are they doing that this year? I loved getting "free" photos of all of us in costume the last few years. And they got to our house with in a day or 2 after we got home.
Maybe I just missed it , but I also did not see a symbol for it on the map.
And I think that there were only 9 or 10 spots to trick or treat last year, and I counted 15 on the map just now!
Can't wait till this Thur. night! Oct 6 MNSSHP!
But was sorry to see that Jungle cruise was not open, love it at night!
What is the Mad Hatters candy party in Toon Town? or what ever it was called? Can't remember what the map said it was exactly, but hope someone can tell us about it.

Thank you - what a great overview and love the map - will be printing a copy of that for our oct 25th visit to MNSSHP

One question - about how long are the fireworks? Would like to view those from the front of the castle but like watching the parade from the liberty square area and it looks like we need to be in possition no later than 9:45pm to see the Headless horseman.

Thanks for your help and again great report :cheer2:

The photos were taken in the same areas as last year's---we took ours in the Timekeeper's building (in Tomorrowland). I believe the Hall of Presidents is another location, plus a spot in Adventureland. There's big signs near the locations to let you know, but if you can't find it, just ask a CM. :) One thing they did do this year (that I don't recall them doing last year)---they marked the tickets as you were going in to have the photos taken. I guess to keep people from going in again?

Deb, you'd have plenty of time to get over to the Square after the fireworks. It was about a 25 min lull between the fireworks to when the parade began. :)

We also attended last night. You can have your picture taken where the riverboat usually docks. There was a screen with the hitchiking ghosts and "car" (or whatever you ride in) from Haunted Mansion, both were cute. We enjoyed the event, but there were definately more people there than any other day we visited. So not a time for rides, but for parade, fireworks and seeing uncommon characters.

We did MNSSHP in 2003 on Halloween night, then again last year we did it- but that time we did the first party of 10/1.

The comparison in characters was amazing. When we went 10/31 Cinderella's Coach was out and there were tons and tons of characters. Then in 2004 we only seen about 2/3 of the characters and no Coach. However DISER's going later last year seen the Coach and more characters.
