MNSSHP & magic bands

We are going to be staying at Universal on this trip. Only heading over to WDW one night for the Halloween party. I just bought 5 Halloween tickets online. There are only 3 of us who already have magic bands. 2 don't have the magic bands. Besides at the entrance to MK, is there any other reason to have a magic band? When I bought my Halloween tickets online I requested that they would be mailed to my house. So the 2 people without magic bands will have a paper ticket?

Trying to figure out if I need to buy 2 magic bands. Since we're not staying on WDW property I won't get free bands, would have to buy them.

This past October when I attended MNSSHP mine was basically a regular Disney gift card. So that's probably what they'll get. There's no reason to have a magic band if they're staying off property. Once you swipe in with your MNSSHP ticket, you'll get a MNSSHP wrist band.

I have never needed the magic band at party unless i wished to use it for pruchases. I always use the hard copy tickets for entrance.

If the ones only attending the party don't have magic bands, there's no need for them to get magic bands. They can't charge anything since they won't be on site and there's no fast passes to scan during the party hours (aside from the ones from 4-7pm if you go in early)

Magic Band use is as follows:
Disney hotels (parking gate entry, pool entry, room entry, and room charging)
Disney Parks (parking for Annual Passholders, ticket use, fastpass+, ride photos, storymaker)

Only the second list applies to offsite guests. The only things a Magic Band can do that a card can't are Storymaker and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train photos.
