Hi! Question for those of you that have been there this time of year. How is the weather at night?

I am asking beacuse my toddler will be dressed up as Pooh bear. It is the Disney cosume that is one piece with the hood that pulls up over her head. I am thinking that this may just be too hot for her to wear.

We are going to MNSSHP on the 13th. Did your kids keep their cosumes on all evening? For those that are just returning, how is the weather?

What will your kiddies be wearing?

Thanks in advance!!

My daughter is wearing the Corpse bride dress on Oct 7. Its a long dress and I heard the weather is going to be very warm this week. She is wearing shorts underneath just in case she wants to take the costume off.

We went two years ago in mid-October. My daughter wore a Minnie costume from a costume store and my son wore a Mickey costume that was actually a one piece sweatsuit I found in a store. We had to take his costume off because it got too hot.

It is pretty warm, even at night, so be prepared for a costume change if need be. Just get some early pictures while it is still light out and then you can change your child later.

Too hot for Pooh! I saw so many little ones sweating and miserable last year. My daughters were Lilo and Mulan...both pretty light costumes with little underneath and they were hot.

If you can I would pick another light weight costume for MNSSHP and save Pooh for trick or treat.

We bought a pirate costume for DS. It has a long sleeved shirt and pants made out of sort of "flannel" (like lounge pants) and I am worried he will get too hot. I bought a plain black T-shirt and black shorts that he can wear with the pirate accessories if he prefers. The pirate costume is so neat but I don't want him to be uncomfortable all night.

OP-
Put your little one in the Pooh suit for a picture or two, then put him in shorts and a Halloween T-shirt. Target has shirts for $4.

My friend's little boy had an Elmo suit that was made out of very heavy, furry fabric one year and he was SO miserable the whole time he had it on. And we were at a party INSIDE, not out in the heat and humidity. I am amazed that the stores around here sell those really heavy costumes - it is usually too warm here to even wear a jacket when we trick-or-treat.

but it will be to hot for Pooh. You could bring a change of clothes, just get your pics done early and then he can be comfy later.

This will be our 5th year at MNSSHP. Agreed, it is hot in the evening. Usually kids start taking off costumes. We also bring shorts and shirts to change into if needed.

Just for your information though. One year when we were there, we needed sweatshirts. It was a chilly night. Kids were very comfortable in their costumes. You just never know what the weather will be like. :maleficen

Our first MNSSHP, I spend most of the evening lugging around my son's expensive costume after he got too hot in it. After that we went with very light material, or just shirts and hats.

Thanks so much for all your help. We decided to save Pooh for our chilly New England trick or treating! For anyone interested or looking for girl costmes, I ended up getting a cute short sleeved Minnie mouse dress which is really cute at Target. They also had some Snow White and other Princess outfits.

I am just so glad that I realized this in time for my little princess to be comfortable (and cool) at the party.

Thanks again!
