We (DH, DS4 (first time), and parents) will be arriving at Disney World on Sunday, Oct. 19th mid-afternoon, staying through Saturday, Oct. 25th mid-afternoon.

Am trying to decide the best time to attend MNSSHP.

I wanted to do something special the first night there--to kick off the trip just the right way.

Would attending the MNSSHP on that first night, Sunday, be a good idea? Not sure I wouldn't rather his first sights of DW to be the way it really is?

Have also considered Hoop-Dee-Doo Review or a character dinner. (Will do these sometime during the trip.)

Would it be better to end the trip on that Friday night with the MNSSHP? Of course, the crowds may be alot worse on Friday.

Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

First question I have - are you driving or flying? This is a hard ticket event. The problem with flying is you will be much more stressed out if your flight is delayed, etc. I don't have enough fingers to count the times our flight was delayed and we got in later than we had anticipated. Now we plan things such as going to Pleasure Island or DTD our first night. This way if the flight is late, there's no pressure.

Friday night will probably be more crowded but at least you don't have to worry about the time.

JMHO.

If I had to choose between a Sunday and a Friday, I would pick the Sunday due to crowds.

I know what you mean about your DS seeing MK during the day "how it really is" though so it's really all up to you and what's most important to you...

Did you plan on going to a park that day regardless? If yes, then go to MK before it's dark (before the party) and have that amazing walk down Main Street.

If not, then rest up and do the party that night unless you think you will be too tired??

I'm in the same boat; debating on MVMCP nights...I have 3 to choose from a Sun, Tues and Thurs! I'm surprised MNSSHP isn't on a weekday for you like Tues. That would be perfect!

Well, good luck!

Thank You so Much for thinking of this!!!! I was planing for our families first visit to MK to be for MNSSHP. I never even thought that it would look different. I guess I will take them the day before to MK so they can see how it really looks!

I personally would wait till Friday. For several reasons one you will be tired, two you might have a delayed flight, three by the time you get to the resort and check you figure it will be already around 4-4:30. This will be wayyy to long of a day for your four year old if you go on travel day.
Have fun in whatever you decide. :D
