MNSSHP - Here's What Happens!

Thank you, thanks you for the info!! DD is making her autograph book & trying to figure out how many more character specific pages to make :) By the way, just so others know--Snow White and the Dwarves DO NOT sign (at least that is the info I have). Thanks again ;)

You might want to think about making a couple generic/blank ones who knows who you might see, Makes sense Snow would not sign, I did read that a couple of the princesses have their princes in the toon town tent but do not know if they sign

I haven't been yet but from the info I've gathered here I think i can start answering your questions:

Touring plans...
I will be travelling with my husband, 6 kids ages 2-9, and my mother. Yes, I am crazy and yes I have lost my mind thanks for asking. Anywho, We plan on arriving around 4 or 5 and staying as late as they will let me.

Can we pick up the bags immediately or do we have to wait until 7? i think you get those with your wristband when you turn in your tickets so if you enter at 4pm you would get it then.

When do they start handing out candy?7pm or a little after. they have to clear the park first of the non party guests

Are there any touring plans that will maximize our time in the parks? Our priorities are autographs, trick or treating, parade, fireworks, with rides being at the bottom of the list. sounds similiar to our desire. I've planned to do the trick or treats and autographs as we work our way around the park. my plan starts in fantasyland and quickly gets us over to toontown then towards tomorrowland and over to frontier land for the 2nd parade. Then after the parade hit the trick or treats there and then work back to mainstreet for the last villian show and out the door. we don't plan to do any rides unless we are ahead of the schedule in my mind or my nephew just insists. He'll have 2 other days for riding rides. This is the time for the party stuff. We go Oct 19th...can't wait

Which parade to watch? Which villian show to watch? most recommend the 2nd parade. that's our plan. We also plan for the later villians show

Where are the best viewing spots for fireworks? can't help with this one yet. we've watched from the bridge near belle's before and enjoyed the fireworks. You want to be able to see the front of the castle from what I've gathered.

Yikes! So much to plan and so little time :scared1:

Hope this helps you a little as I didn't see any direct responses to you.

The Playing Cards that are handing out candy on the trail from Toontown to Tomorrowland will take the time to sign an autograph, if you ask them to (or pose for pictures)

We went on 9/28 and it was so not crowded that we walked up to the parade right at 10:30 and there was only one row of people in front of us. We rode lots of the attractions multiple times with no wait in line. There were not many people at the Dance Parties and my teens had a blast!!! We were having so much fun on the attractions and taking pictures that we didn't trick or treat until about 11:30!!! We rode Space Mountain so many times!!! We all agreed that the one to the right is way faster and jerkier than the one on the left!!!:thumbsup2 For the fireworks, it is best to get somewhere that you can see the front of the castle. They project images onto the castle and you couldn't see them if you weren't in front of it. If it's not busy when you go like it was for us, you'll have no problem finding any spot you want!!!

Hello all-

as fairly new Disney vistors I am certainly not up to speed on knowing where each of these places are  but I plan on looking at the brochure and map to acclimate myself prior.

My question is more basic- we will be entering the park sometime between 4-5 p.m. after lunch at Planet Hollywood in DTD. CS dinner will be part of plan before the actual party starts and we DEFINATELY want to get in rides.

Is it possible to ride, get autographs, see the parade (maybe both?) and fireworks all while trick or treating???

A lof these characters were not ones we saw in Jan so my DD 8 would be thrilled but I don't want to miss the chance to ride without lines and SEE the Halloween part as well

arrggghhh I am so excited but a bit overwhelmed as well

It's possible but tough. Time really flies. You probably can do some of each but not all the rides, not all the characters, and not all the trick or treat locations.

I've gone to 8 parties so far between MNSSHP and MVMCP and it's really tough to do it all. I usually try to do a couple of character meets, trick or treat along the way, a couple of rides along the way, the fireworks and the second parade and then we leave. You will be amazed how fast it will go by.

I suggest you prioritize what you really want to do and have a basic plan and then just go with the flow!

Good luck!

I would suggest going to wdwinfo.com, look up MNSSHP and find the 2008 map/schedule. Then prioritize what you wanna see/do. For example, seeing characters takes a lot of time, and seeing the fireworks/parade around main st means you need to be there ahead of time. And read this thread from start to finish, a lot of good info is posted here. And depending on if you will be at MK another day, i would suggest doing the special stuff before the rides. Rides are always there, the special characters/shows are not!

I agree Priortize. This was our 2nd year and Time flew by, I swear we did more our first year. Next year I pan on doing 2 parties one for Trick and Treating/Rides and the 2nd party for photos and autographs. If you want Villian photos I would knock those out first or maybe start with Snow White then go to the Villians

We got there right at 4 pm and had the same plan as you. It was not crowded and the attractions did not have bad lines at all. We probably could have done more, except we were so excited about having no lines that rodes many attractions multiple times (like 8 times on Space Mountain!!!:rolleyes1 ). The best advice I have is start early with the attractions you want to do, see the late parade, watch Hallowishes and the villian show, do the dance parties (for great pictures dancing with the characters and some trick or treating there too!), then see the characters late (but they leave by 11:30). There were lines for the characters early but walk up later on.

We are leaving for the airport in 40 minutes and will be attending MNSSHP on Saturday night. I will give a report when I get back.

Here's some pics from our visit ...

Anyone know this?

I'm pretty sure Capt Jack only appears in the parade on party nights. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but we did not see him while there. As for the lockers, I'm sorry, I don't know the answer. I have never rented a locker at any of the parks before. Maybe someone else can answer that one for you!

We are going to MNSSHP on Halloween. My question is will they have costumes available for purchase or do they usually sell out certain sizes. I am looking for a princess costume in a 2T but what they have on the disney shopping site is already starting to sell out.

I believe they will have whatever you need. Since they sell dresses/costumes all year long, sizes tend to be available. I would perhaps call the store at DTD because that is where they tend to have the most stuff, as well as the merchandise store at MK. I have also seen dresses at the Grand Floridian store, but not all princesses. I have bought 4 dresses in the past year on property and never had to hunt down a size/kind.

GL!

We went to the 9/9 party. I really, excuse me my SON :rolleyes1 , really wanted to see Captain Jack. I had 3 CMs call on their walkie-talkies for info. He does not do a meet and greet at the MNSSHP :sad1: . He does appear in the parade. But we did get to meet Tarzan and Snow White and the 7 dwarfs, which was fantastic. Dopey kept picking his nose and wiping his finger on Doc! The dwarfs do not sign, as would take way too long. The line is very long and closed even before the characters appeared. Got to get there about 30 min before they are scheduled to appear. The villians did not sign either, but do line up after the show in front of the castle for pics. This was our first Halloween party, and it was exceptional!
