I know its early but the more I can do now the longer I can keep the Disney Spirit going until our trip. Please help me get things in order for the MNSSHP we will be attending this year. I know that we will have to purchase seperate tickets for this but that's all I know. I don't know what to expect. I have no idea what costumes to wear :confused3 and I am not crafty so making a costume is out of the question for me .

We didn't wear costumes because I didn't want to lug them to the parks and carry them around when the kids got tired of them. Plus I am not crafty at all. So we bought matching glow in the dark Halloween t-shirts, and changed into them before the party started. It worked out well, and I saw a lot of people doing the same thing.

OMG! DD12 and I went to our first one last year, it will so not be our last!!!!!

As for crafty, I feel ya, but you can google simple homemade costume ideas, that aren't expensive or hard to make.

For MNSSHP info, go to search here on Disboards.com and type in MNSSHP and look at previous threads of ideas and info.

It's never too early....I started preliminary planning about about a month after our MNSSHP on 10/31! Back to the board with "what I know now" and "what I'll do differently". Lots of MNSSHP threads with great tips. First thing I think I'll change is going to a park all day before the party. Leaning toward spending the day relaxing at the resort pool so we can make it til Midnight!

^^^^^^^^^nice ticker, hereyago!

Why thank you! I truly agree with just chillin at the resort earlier that day. DD and I flew in that morning 10-29 and our room was ready early. We all ready had bathing suits on carry on just in case. and we just relaxed ate, did some swimming and even took a nap-DD's idea I was shocked-then woke up got ready ate at food court, off we went.

I have this bad habit of planning the next vacation while on vacation. so I knew we were going to go back for this year, can't do a DCL cruise unfortunately because they leave port too early for me to do a private excursion.

So we will go to WDW a couple days before then cruise.

not to be a debbie downer and I LOVE disney own DVC but MNSSHP was a bust for me for 150$ for 3 people the lines were HORRIBLE it was wall to wall people and you could hardly move or do much of anything, the candy lines they gave one or two pieces of candy and were 30 minutes long and i went in mid october on a supposedly medium day... maybe if you went to one of the early week day parties it would be worth it, but i really thought it wasn't worth the extra money.

now the haunted carriage ride at fort wilderness I loved... it was 60$ for up to 5 people and at the end the headless horseman comes to "get you" my neice screamed like a little girl (she was 15 at the time) but my 2 year old loved it and hubby and i enjoyed the quiet ride in the dark with the story.

Haunted carriage ride sounds fun. DD and I went on October 29,not sure if they were "sold" out, but we got on rides easily, candy lines moved quickly and it was given out plenty and the candy "haulers" were always bringing in more candy, even when we left, we were given candy. Sorry it wasn't the same experience for you.

We went to our first MVMCP last November and will be attending our first MNSSHP in Oct 2011. Our costumes are going to do double duty. My daughters is going to be Cinderella. It's her birthday and I am getting her done up at BBB. My DH will be wearing his pirate costume for our cruise on the Dream later on that week. My oldest DD will most likely go as herself. I picked up a witch hat and will probably throw a outfit togeter last minute. We wanted something that will travel well and be able to go on the rides without much fuss.

You can start to enter the park at 4 so we plan on visting some of the monorail resorts to kill the time. We also want to eat at Kona at the Poly.

We had a blast at the MVMCP and the ride lines were non existant. I am hoping for the same during Halloween.

The Haunted Carriage ride sounds like something we will be doing too.

This will be out 5th time at WDW.

I have to agree about the party in mid to late October(we did the 10/31 party)....too busy. Another lesson learned from the first trip. We're staying at FW this time, as well. The hayride is definitely on the list of "to-dos". What I want to know (and it's probably somewhere on this board) is when the dates for all the parties are released.

Thanks everyone for your advice. :thumbsup2 I was thinking of letting my 2 year old be a pirate (very easy to throw together and will be manageable on rides). Don't know about my 10 year old. He will probably want a very expensive costume and we won't be doing that so we may end up wearing the glow in the dark shirts.
