We plan on being at MK during the day before a MNSSHP and then having dinner at 1900 Park Fare or Whispering Canyon when we leave the park at 7. Are the fireworks worth watching from outside MK? And if so, which resort has the best viewing that anyone can enjoy? (We are staying onsite but at Kidani so none of the MK resorts) I'm thinking dinner a walk along the beach for fireworks that evening would be fun. We are attending the party another night and will get to see the fireworks in front of the castle that night so if the resort viewing is pretty bad we probably wont bother. Thanks in advance!

You can see the fireworks from the MK resorts and the TTC.

From the GF, you can see the fireworks from the Boat Dock area. They do pipe in the music.

From the WL, I've read that you can only see them from the northern end of the cast member parking lot. They are not visible from the lodge itself.

Other viewing locations include the CR 4th floor observation deck and the Poly Beach. However, there have been reports that access to the Poly Beach is restricted to guests staying at the Poly due to all of the construction. The CR area is available to anyone (the observation deck on the 15th floor is only for guests of California Grill).

My family had a great time watching the firework at the beach in Polynesian last summer. It was the perfect setting with sands in your toes, little night breeze and music in the background. My girls loved playing in the sand and the swings there.

The Poly beach access is restricted due to construction. Some say you can still watch from there, others said they were not allowed. The best place is probable to GF boat docks if you want to see the full show. They pipe in the music so it's pretty good. If you get there early enough, you can also watch the water pageant as well.

The view is nice from the contemporary if you also want to eat at the California Grill.

and if you don't want to eat at CG, you can go on the 4th floor observation area. It's the door that would lead you to the Bay Tower units (and yes, you can get back in, lol...one family was frozen at the door afraid they couldn't get back in if they went out, bless their hearts. You can walk down the stairwell too for a neat look/view of the insides of the Contemporary

Why didn't ONE of them just go though the door and check?

:rotfl2: No idea...I honestly think they thought it was only for the Bay Tower people and you needed a key/code whatever to get back thru.It was pretty weird feeling their eyes on us as my DD and I walked out there, to just, hang out there lol....not to go to BLT. They did eventually venture out , for like, 3 seconds and then went back in. :confused3 My DD and I were busy taking
pic's of the underside of the track and monorails as best we could (we're weird, I know)so not sur eif they were underwhelmed or what, but yep..that's my 4th floor CR observation :scratchin story

Are there any benches or "good spots" on the GF dock? Does it get crowded? We have a 7:30 ADR so it should be about perfect for the Water Pageant and fireworks!

1- Are there any benches or

2- "good spots" on the GF dock?

3- Does it get crowded?

1- You might find some places to sit.

2- You can see the fireworks and Water Pageant from the boat-dock and an outside observation deck near Narcoossee's restaurant at the
Grand Floridian. Anyone can stand on Narcoossee's Deck.
The outside deck is not a part of the actual restaurant. (All serving is done inside.)
The deck is accessed from the sidewalk outside the restaurant.

Also, good viewing from the Patio overlooking the Marina.
The sound of the show is piped into these areas too.

3- Most "regular" nights, there will only be a few scattered guests watching.

But, July 3 & 4, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, will see a very notable increase of guests, especially since the Poly beach is severely curtailed due to DVC construction.
