MNSSHP Early Entry...CONFIRMED!

Seems like a possible perk to me. It doesn't cost DVC anything and the members will love it. Blue card person plus 5 in your party will probably be the policy.

:earsboy: Bill

Great! Now, I can start waiting for Jack and Sally at 2 (tongue firmly in cheek). I’ll believe it when a DVC member says that they got in.

So if other members of your family are not DVC they could not get in at 2pm? Is this for every party date?

I never asked about guests... I am assuming it is for all dates as the CM never asked which party I was attending when he confirmed the 2:00 pm entry...

I just chatted with a CM as well. He confirmed the 2pm entry, membership cards will be needed, and that if we bought the tickets for our guests, they can come with us.

Side note: I originally thought we bought our party tickets from Undercover Tourist (we actually purchased through Disney). The CM stated that if bought elsewhere, to periodically check the member site to verify whether those tickets qualify.

Just did the chat with DVC for a room location request and asked about entrance time to MNSSHP and he said 2PM too. So excited to get in earlier as we have a 9 Night trip with only MNSSHP tickets!

I just called DVC Member Services and was also told that DVC members can enter at 2:00. I did not think to ask about their guests, or what they would need to show.

I also called the number on the Annual Passholder webpage. I was told that people can enter at 4:00. I said I had been told that DVC members can enter at 2:00 and wondered about AP holders. He said 4:00, not 2:00.

I know that information from a random cast member on the phone is not the same as an official announcement, but I just wanted to add this information to the mix.

Update: it's on the DVC Member webiste. Log in, search Mickey's Not So Scary. Click on the link for discounted tickets, and it says this:

New in 2018 — Earlier Entry
In 2018, Members and their guests can enter Magic Kingdom park 2 hours earlier than ever before—as early as 2:00 PM. Simply present your valid Disney Vacation Club Membership Card and your event ticket at the main entrance touch points to take advantage of this benefit.

Found this on the DVC website. Yay!

I won't be attending this but I had to ask. Member Services said this benefit is for direct purchase only so no white card holders allowed.

Haha I was just coming here to post what that it's on the DVC site! Super stoked!! We don't have park tickets, we only have Halloween tickets this time, yay!!!

I know that it is WAY to premature to speculate since this was just announced and has not even been implemented yet, but if it is a success and they continue it next year, I wonder if it will work in my situation. I am travelling with my extended family. We will be a party of 8, all on one reservation. I am the only (adult) member and the travel party will consist of myself and my 2 teenagers, my sister and her 2 daughters, and my parents. According to the DVC website, I can purchase a total of (8) MNSSHP party tickets at the discounted rate so we should be all set as far as the tickets go. I wonder if we will all be eligible for the early-entry. It won't change our decision about going to the party and we already have our park tickets (we bought them back in 2017 before Disney put a "use by" date on them) so it's not a huge deal, but it will eventually have an impact on our planning when it is time to make ADR's and FP reservations.

The description this year states “members and their guests” so you should be fine assuming nothing changes for next year.

It would be nice if they told us how they are defining "their guests."

People on my room reservation? My local friends who are going to the party with me? And how many guests can I take in?

If you also have an AP, and MK is open until 6pm anyway, what is the benefit (if any) to entering at 2 instead of 4pm?

It would be a benefit if the guest rule applied, so that if you had friends/family who had a party ticket but not an AP they could go in with you.

There is no benefit if you have a AP. The benefit is for those who do not have an AP or who do not want to burn a day on a multi-day ticket if they won't be entering the park until the afternoon anyways. Last year, I foolishly booked a BOG ADR for 4pm which meant we had to be in the park by 3:30pm. Since we were planning on staying until midnight, we wanted to sleep in and so we weren't planning to go to a park in the morning anyways. I realized that I basically burned a park admission for what amounted to only about 30 minutes of park time.

Got it, thanks! Sorry that happened to you.
