How long were the character lines?

I'm sure it depends on the date you go and the time of night you go so YMMV. I was there on Sunday, Oct 2, probably around 10:00p.

The character lines were at least 10 people deep.

Ouch. I can see that doing all of the characters in one night may be out of the question. We had planned to do some of the characters that we don't normally see and maybe get just a pose n snap with the main ones in their halloween garb.

Coincidently, we'll be there Monday, October 2.

OK, this may sound like a stupid question....

Do they ever run out of candy to give out? We were thinking of saving the trick or treating for much later in the evening. Would this work?

I've never heard of them running out; quite the opposite actually. I've heard of people getting hand fulls at the end of the night. I remember as we were going through the turnstyles at the end of the night there were CMs still handing out Sweet Tarts to everyone.

After reading on the board I decided this was to be a very low key day. DS17 can do what he wants(he claims he doesn't need to take it easy) but the rest of us DH, DS4 and I are are having a 930 breakfast at 1900. Then off to do a little shopping @DTD. Might grab a snack mid day then back to the AKL for a quiet afternoon before dinner at 530 at CP. This is about midway in our 9 day stay so it should be a good day to take it easy.

i've read reports of just the opposite as well... what i've read says that the cms that distribute the candy are less generous early on, and then give away oodles of candy the later it gets (probably 'cause they don't want to have to carry it back with them! LOL!)

does anyone know what kind of candy is given out? (ds has severe food allergies and i can only hope there is something safe for him)

If you get there at 4:00 - do they let you in if you only have the Party ticket ?

I don't want to use up one of my park day tickets for a couple hours extra. Had planned on a relaxing day.......then party till the end :thumbsup2

Unofficially, they've been letting party goers in after 4:00p with just their party tickets for a few years now but it could change at any time. It is unofficial and not a guarantee but I believe it will continue. We should know by the first party on Sept 15.

I am not using a regular park ticket day. I was told the MNSSHP ticket will let you in anytime after 4.

I am planning a quiet evening the night before. We are doing AK the day prior to our party night and are not planning any evening activity for after we leave there. Hoping to get the children to bed close to their regular time. We have nothing planned for the morning until 11:20 at Chef Mickey where we will have their bday party. After CM we will go back to the resort and relax until it is time to get dressed for the party. We have a 5:05 reservation at Tonys. I have no plan for after that. I am hoping we can hang on until the second parade because of crowds and stuff but I will let the 5 year olds control that. This trip is all about them being happy, especially since our party night is their actual bday. I am hoping to avoid any meltdowns. We are planning on doing Epcot the next day. We have 11:20 lunch reservations so as long as we make those I don't care what time we get to the park.

What are the actual parade times? This is our first time doing this and we are actually arriving to Disney that day. I made a ADR for 7:30 at LTT but now I am thinking we should change it. We are going to be a party of 6 with children 8,4. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. When I bought the tickets the cast member could not find the info. Date we are going is Oct.12 and this is the only possible date we can go.

The parade times change slightly from year to year but they're usually 8:30p and 10:30p.

I'd change that time because it's eating into the party time. You could try for earlier at LTT or eat at CP, the Castle, Tony's or the Plaza. I wouldn't eat any later then 6:00p.

hi
anybody hoping to use their annual pass to get into mnsshp or christmas party be aware that after 6pm you will have to pay car parking regardless. the official party time starts at 7pm and as a special event parking is payable, another good reason for starting early :cool1:

I second that. You definitely want to be DONE eating by 7:00, when the party starts.
