Are the crowds during the actual party just about the same as the crowd level during the day? Will we still have to wait quite a while before the parade and Hallowishes for a decent seat? Where would we sit for a decent view of both the parade and Hallowishes? Any info and/or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I think it really depends on the day you are visiting the parks. Obviously, the crowd levels for MNSSHP will be larger the closer to Halloween you get. I've read that the capacity for each MNSSHP is 25K guests.

We went a couple of years ago in early October, but it was Columbus Day weekend and it was sold out. I thought it was very crowded. Some rides had long lines, most were manageable. We missed the fireworks because we were in a long line for the HM and we could not get out of line but could not see the fireworks :guilty: ! After that, we stood in Liberty Square to see the Headless Horseman (which was really neat) and the second parade (which was crazy crowded!) After that, alot of folks with younger kids left, the parks cleared drastically, and we were able to get candy and ride rides with ease! We did MVMCP last December, also on a sold out night (the last night they offered it) and for some reason it seemed much LESS crowded to me all night. Disney does not release official numbers on what "sold out" means. So, YES, wait for a parade spot early! You are supposed to be able to see the fireworks from all over the park!

Check out the crowd level the night you go. If it's looking crowded and/or people are already staking out spots, then by all means, grab yours. I went Sept 15th this year and didn't need to worry. I staked out a spot on the curb in front of the castle about a half-hour early. Then, instead of the Villains stage show, they went straight to the meet-n-greet due to the rain. Looking at the crowds, I made a conscious choice to get up and take pics with the villains I'd never seen before. When I got back, the people who had been sitting next to me had spread out, but I was able to stand directly behind them and didn't have anyone behind me. For the second parade, I was closer to the beginning o fthe parade and was able to just walk up to a space on the rope because there were so many gaps between people. Now, it was a Sept party and it was raining, so YMMV. :)
