Ok, we are going to MNSSHP, my nephew is going to be Peter Pan, one niece is going to be Tinkerbell and the other one is going to be Wendy.
My sister is going to be Mr. Smee and I am going to be a bag of Pixie Dust! :rotfl:
(yes, I thought of being Captain Hook, but there are so many pirates now, I wanted something different, plus it'll be too hot to be Hook)

Anyway, anybody have any thoughts on how I could do this? I'm going to glitter myself up, my hair and stuff, but I'm trying to think of something simple yet clever for the costume...I was thinking of glittering up a white t-shirt and putting "Faith, Trust, And........" on the front and then "Pixie Dust!" on the back. But I am open to any other ideas or suggestions!

Anyone ever been Pixie Dust before? :teeth:

You could take a giant clear garbage bag and cut arm and leg holes in it and stuff it with shredded paper coated in spray glitter. Lable the bag pixie dust. It will be hot though.

i was thinking something along those lines too- but with a gold sheer light fabric- just sew/cut it like the shape of a garbage bag. then tie it at your neck with a pretty gold ribbon. write pixie dust on it and of course use glitter in your hair and carry some around to spread! clever idea, i love it.:thumbsup2

I love the idea..but I don't envy the clean up of all that glitter.

Love the fabric idea.:tinker:

Definately the sheer cloth and label yourself as Pixie dust. How cute. And you will need some to "spread around" of course!!!

I'd get some glitter fabric spray from Tulip or Duncan, and some pretty fabric and spray like crazy. Some glitter gel for your face, and some glitter hair spray. What a great idea, please be sure to take a picture:)

I'd definitely get some gold face paint or something along those lines!!!

and I might even sew a metallic material for the bag they tend to be pretty shear so you might need another material underneath!

Peter Pan Family theme?? Dump the glitter. Get a bonnet, ears, maybe a tail...paint the tip of your nose black, maybe some whiskers...;)

I like the fabric sewn on for the bag! :cool1: For the sake of everyone though I will be checking. double checking and triple checking how sheer it is though! :rotfl2:

I found these to maybe put in my hair....what do you think? .. Too much?
I would sort of weave the light strands into my hair rather than just have them hang down like in the picture.

I love that hair piece...I want that for regular old park attendance lol

with the sheer metallic fabric bag idea do a white lining and have "Pixie Dust" air brushed on the lining so it would show through?

I love the light's in your hair idea.

or you could go as the tick tock crock?

I thought of the tick tock crock and actually my sister is still deciding between Mr. Smee and the crock. I think she is going to go with whichever costume is easier, but she did see a fun alligator hat to wear, not sure if she bought it or not.

I told my brother that I'm going to be Pixie Dust yesterday...he said for all my Disneyness, he thinks I've finally gone round the bend.

Those light things for the hair are so cool. That's a definite MUST do!

looks cool!!!

LOVE THIS!!!! You will have to post pictures. I would suggest wearing something white or yellow under, then wearing the bag overtop - just in case. Although I do have a co-worker who has successfully worn a kitchen catcher, (that's another story for another place - alcohol was a factor) I think you could easily find some gold lame or some such in an "end bin". I just bought DD some blue glitter dot material for a fairy costume. It was in an "end bin" and on sale. Don't forget a gold satin ribbon to tie yourself off with!

We too are planning to use the tinker bell theme. It revolves around my 4 and a half year old picking out tink. Then, my mom will be peter pan, my husband and son will be pirates,,y bother can be the croc or an indian, and his girlfriend tiger lily. I was having difficulty coming up with a Wendy costumes so if you are not going on Sept. 12th, can I steal (um borrow)your pixie dust idea?- Please?

You should get a jumpsuit and cover it in gold glitter then cover your face in gold makeup
