Officially, these parties shut down at midnight, but we have seen/heard various rumors that the MK is staying open until 1:00 or 2:00 on party nights. Anybody have experience with this year's parties and whether the park is staying open later than the posted time? We'll be there Halloween night (which happens to be the night for the time change), so the kiddos are hoping for a later night.

I would guess the rides stop people queuing at 12, but then they let people mill about and spend money for a while after. Thats what we found at MVMCP

I don't know about 1 or 2, but they are showing the last Hocus Pocus show of the night at midnight, so staying to watch that last does go over the official closing time.

We got in line for Peter Pan at 11:59. After that, I didn't pay attention to the time, but it was probably 10 minutes or so wait. We were funneled towards main street (couldn't go back towards Haunted Mansion). We then went to the Emporium and Starbucks. Don't know how late it was when they shut everything down.

Exactly. After the show you won't be able to walk to any areas other than the hub. So you will likely just be able to enjoy the ambiance and the shops. And of course the bathrooms. The Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom kiosk will be shut down, but if your game is set to play in Main Street, you might be able to take advantage of that.

But for @Kimosabe , the attractions will not be taking new guests and as you exit the ride they will begin herding you towards the front. There is even more incentive for them to do this after the last party night since they need to take down the decorations and finalize the work for Christmas.

This. Actually this is true EVERY DAY, at EVERY PARK.
We always get an ice cream and sit around on Main Street and people watch, maybe walk around in the Emporium, etc. for about an hour after 'park close'

And from what I understand, the Hocus Pocus theme show is at midnight.

We saw the midnight Hocus Pocus show. It was over about 12:20. We walked straight out, but the stores were still open and packed as we were leaving. I suspect that the stores probably stay open until at least 1:00, to disburse the masses who head out at closing a bit for the transportation. Might as well have people racking up sales instead of just standing in long lines for buses, boats and monorail.

Thanks, all. Yes, we tend to linger as long as they'll let us, whether at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, the Emporium or just hanging out on Main Street, waiting for the "Kiss Goodnight" at the castle. We have one daughter who would stay all night if they would let her, and another who usually zonks out a little earlier and often can't quite make it to the end. The former has been hoping and praying that the actual official close time (and not just late night loiter might get moved later so we might be able to ride a few things after midnight, but I suspect it is as much to annoy her younger sister than anything else (two tweens...lucky me). Didn't realize that the last show starts at midnight, so she'll be glad to hear that.

Pretty sure there is one last Halloween party the next night (11/1), so they won't be taking down the décor on our night.

We will be at the party on 11/1. I didn't even consider that they might be already removing the fall/halloween decor right at the end of the night that night, but I would imagine that the overnight hours then probably will be a big push to take it down and start putting the Christmas things up for the first Christmas Party on 11/8. I think it will be interesting to watch that transformation all next week.
