Hi everyone! I'm a first time poster so please help me plan our very first trip to Disney with my husband, DD 6 and DS 4. We're on a budget as my husband would like us to wait a few more years, but I simply can not wait any longer! We are not amusement park type people really and with my ages of my children I know we will not be doing open to close days. We're more into the "experience" and not riding every ride available over and over again.

I'm looking at doing the 2 day 3 night with free memory maker deal. A friend suggested this scenario and I would like your thoughts.

We would drive to Disney on Sunday Sept 14,2014. It is an 8 hour drive and we are not early people. We would likely not arrive until 10 pm or later and may consider staying offsite for that night only. If we arrived early enough, we may consider chip and dale's campfire that evening.

Monday we would go to MK

Tuesday we would hang around the resort and then go to MNSSHP. I'm told we can enter the park at 4pm (although officially 7pm and I will be ok if that's the case). Can someone please confirm that only a ticket to MNSSHP is necessary and that it will not cost a park ticket AND a MNSHHP? I am willing to pay for the MNSHHP but since we will only have a 2 day pass I want to make sure that it does not count as one of our park days.

Wednesday we would do either Epcot or AK. I'd really love to experience Epcot but people tell me that for my kids ages they'd probably prefer AK.

I know that I want to experience Cinderella's Royal Table. I'd love to do the Bippity Boppity Boutique but will probably have to save that for another time. I'd also like to do some type of pirate adventure and maybe the kids could do that Tuesday morning before MNSHHP. (When I say "I would like to experience" I really mean that I would like for my kids to experience.)

Thursday we may do SeaWorld and drive to Savannah to be with the in laws or we may just skip seaworld and drive back home. DD 6 has been asking to do sea world for nearly 2 years now so I'd love to be able to combine the trip.

Thoughts???

Nothing as Magical as taking your kids for the first time to Disney. You only need a ticket to MNSSHP to enter the park after 4pm. I'm not sure but have they released the dates for the party yet? Are you sure that it is offered that day? Would hate for you to plan on it and then it not be happening when you are there. We are going October 17-24th. Celebrating my birthday and it will be my Daughter's first trip. Have a Magical time!

There should be a party for OP's planned date, and for your dates, the parties should be on Oct. 17, 19, 21, 23 and 24. :goodvibes

If you can make it to Fort Wilderness for the Campfire Sing-along with Chip 'n Dale, you should absolutely check it out. It's free! We like to bring our own 'smores along to save money.

MNSSHP is a separate admission ticket. No park ticket required. You are correct about the 4pm entry, although it is not official and could change without notice.

When choosing between Epcot and Animal Kingdom keep in mind that the park hours at Animal Kingdom are usually shorter than Epcot. In 2013, Animal Kingdom closed at 5 or 6pm during the same dates you are going, while Epcot was open until 9pm. There are plenty of great things for kids at Epcot! Kids can enjoy Turtle Talk with Crush, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Journey into Imagination, several character greetings, Kidcot Fun Stops (culturally inspired activities in each country of World Showcase) and Agent P's World Showcase Adventure (an interactive search for clues with the Phinneas and Ferb characters) just to name a few. Don't get me wrong, Animal Kingdom is great for kids too! I just wanted to point out a few things you may not have known about Epcot. I'm sure your family will have fun no matter which park you choose to visit!

Check out The Pirates League in Magic Kingdom as an alternative to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Boys can get pirate makeovers and girls can choose between an empress or a mermaid makeover. The packages range in price from $30-75 and it doesn't take quite as long as BBB. Magic Kingdom park admission is required to experience The Pirates League but you could try to time it for 4:30pm and do it when entering MK for MNSSHP.

Hope you find these suggestions useful and have a wonderful trip!

I forgot to mention Cinderella's Royal Table. Reservations are required and payment is due in full at time of booking. Guests staying at a Disney resort are able to book their reservations 180 days in advance. You may have a difficult time getting a reservation if you don't book early, so make sure you look in to that asap.

Another pirate themed activity for the kids to do is to go on a Pirate Adventure Cruise. They are for kids only ages 4-12 (parents get some free time) and are offered daily from 9:30-11:30am. There are 4 different options available: Disney's Pirate Adventure, Islands of the Carribean Pirate Cruise, Albatross Treasure Cruise and Bayou Pirate Adventure. Reservations are required and it costs about $36 (snack included).
