DH and I will be flying in and attending MNSSHP that evening. We don't have park tickets, but it is my understanding that we will be able to enter the park at 4. Will we be able to buy Genie+ based on that?

My DH only wants to ride Jungle Cruise, which is not open for the party. I would love to be able to stack rides for after 4.

Has anyone done this?

Genie+ has not been available for any of the parties last year and since it's the FP+ replacement, FP+ was not used at parties so likely no. Without tix, there is no way to get a G+ for JC. However, in past years, many party days are not usually as crowded since guests avoid MK for the abbreviated hours. Now, it depends on the day of your party and how close to the holiday. Weekend parties and those closer to Halloween will be busier days so you might be fine to dedicate a little time to ride JC standby.

I believe you can enter the park at 4:00 with the party ticket, which is 3 hours before the park closes for the party. The line shouldn’t be that long. You should be able to ride jungle cruise during that time without genie plus.

That's a bummer, had no idea Jungle Cruise would be closed during the party.

It's been a few years since 2019, but I think I was able to book 3 F+ plus with a party ticket. I started at 3:30, then 4:30, then 5:30.

Not to beat a dead horse since sadly FP+ is dead :(

There's never been FP+ offered under a party only ticket. However, I had heard of some instances (it never happened to me), that there were people who were able to book FP+ even though they only had a party ticket. Nobody is sure how/why it happened but I think some of the issue was a glitch that would happen when guests had multi-day tickets. At that time, Disney didn't know which parks anyone was going to visit on the days of their trip so if a guest had a bunch of tix for their trip, there would in theory be a ticket potentially associated with the day you go to the party.

For the OP, there's not been any G+ offered during a party so I'd assume that's the status quo on that.

we're going to 2 nights of MNSSHP in October and for both dates we'll be headed to other parks that morning and will probably purchase Genie + for the day - does that mean I can still make evening FP+ during the party hours??

Or is that what we've been talking about and that the answer was NO? Its so confusing! :confused3

I was definitely able to book FP+ with only a MNSSHP ticket. We did it more than once. I think the issue now may be that you need a park reservation where we didn't need that pre-covid.

Agree, absolutely this. Was always able to book FP+ for those few hours before a party. Disney had years to close the loop if it were a glitch, there were no rules against it and many used it. Never heard anyone say it didn't work. You could book FP+ for your number of ticket days plus the party days.

There was Genie+ during the Merry After Hours "event" aka Christmas Party and I heard of no one that could book Genie+. Agree again, I think the reason is that Genie+ associates or looks for a "park reservation" which a party/event ticket is not in that same bucket. The system would not see a reservation and therefore not open up the portal for purchase. And I am glad as there seems to be a limited supply of times for top attractions so they should go to those who bought park tickets, not party tickets. Party ticket holders have the advantage of smaller crowds.

If your MNSSHP experience is like ours several years ago, many people will be staking out spots along Main Street and the Hub to see the first parade. It'll probably be crazy in that area anyway with non-partygoers gradually heading out of the park and ultimately CMs escorting groups of them out before 7:00 p.m.

I suspect you'll have a great time doing rides if you enter at 4:00, get something to eat, and then make a beeline for the various rides as we did.

We virtually walked onto 7DMT, could have done it faster if we hadn't fiddled around playing some of the standby line games. We'd always used FP+ and had never before gone standby. Didn't know how fun the standby line was!

Practically every ride was a short wait (15 minutes at most) or a walkon.

Can't assure you it'll be similar now as crazy as crowds have been since the reopening but encourage you to give our strategy a try. It's worked well for us at both the single MNSSHP and multiple MVMCPs we've done.

They'll be no Genie + options for anything after 7pm for Magic Kingdom.

really? No more FP? Yeah we used G+ in May so I am aware. If you saw the post I quoted, it said there was no FP allowed with a party ticket in the past. I responded that I was able to book FP with a party ticket for the hours between 4 and 6. It was common and discussed here. You couldn’t do it if you booked 3 in another park earlier in the day. just correcting a misstatement that there was no FP on a party ticket.

I would recommend getting in line for Jungle Cruise shortly before park closing time (in this case, the time when it closes for regular guests and the party officially begins). So if the party starts at 7, get in line at 6:50. You'll have the shortest waits of the day, and the standby line will move much faster, without any LL to slow it down.

Yes, this was my experience in 2019 with the Christmas party. When we did the Haloween party in 2018, we had been at AK earlier in the day and booked FP #4 in MK.

Yep in the past you could book 3 FP with just a party ticket between 4-7 (did with multiple park tickets on account and another two times with just party tickets in my account) and it was a beautiful thing. I think Genie+ quietly fixes that loophole without having any message from Disney since the FP loophole was just that, and not guaranteed. I would imagine those that have active park tickets and genie+ on the day of the party could make LL passes during those times, but not those with just party tickets.
The FP were nice during those 3 hours, but I'm sure you'll be able to squeeze at least 1-2 major attraction rides in without them during that time if you wanted to. If high demand special character meets are on your to-do lists for the party I'd recommend waiting in line for those in that 3 hours instead of rides though since those lines typically are longer than rides throughout the night imo.
