MNSSHP and candy

I had read they have a wide variety of like pixie sticks and some chocolate bars. I also read a rumour somewhere that this year they might have Goofy's candy company brand candies... I would love this as I think they would be fun to bring home! Can anyone confirm?
:thumbsup2

All I can confirm was it seemed like my neices and nephews had a ton of Tootsie Rolls when they came back.

My son remembers all the laughy Taffy. DH remembers three musketeers, snickers. a couple of butterfingers, Tootsie rolls, Nik Liks ( little bottles with the syrups in them). That is about all we can remember. We are looking forward to what is new this year.

Personally I would love if they just gave out snickers.

Along with the Snickers and three muskateers, the tootsies, pixie sticks, all the choc coins. They also give some healthy fruit snacks at some locations.

It's not really Goofy's candy but it all name brand GOOD stuff and lots of it.

My only recommendation it to take a backpack to put your candy bags in while riding the rides as they fill quick.

Also take the path from toontown to tomorrowland late in the night as they don't want to have to lug all that candy in the teacups back inside so they load you up at all 4 stops.

Further to that ... Are candy bags given out or do we have to raid the hotel room for pillow cases?

Going on Halloween night for the first time. It will also be my youngest DD's (1 yr old - almost 2) first time trick or treating period.

The year we were there the kids mostly got those chocolate wonder balls that you crack open and little candies come out. They loved them.

I am now 27 i did it last year at 26 and I went trick or treating around the magic kingdom. It was a father daughter trip. My father didn't want to do it. but I did! I had a great time. even posed with the queen of hearts.

They have all kinds of candy and they give you hand fulls of it. Thank god they did. because my dad wanted some when we got back to the room. even though he didn't work for it. Hehehe.

Make sure if you go that you take the walk way to mickey's toontown..they have alice and wonderland all along there giving out candy and taking pictures.

Can the grown up kids trick or treat??

Yes and it's encouraged as well by the CM's if your in costume or not.

MFQ yes you get a nice bag upon entering the park ( so no need to raid the pillows.)

Go to this thread and look at the bears in Post #32 it has a MNSSHP bag filled with the candy

Wow, where have I been???? I had no idea that the kids trick-or-treated at the Halloween Party! I figured that it was like the Xmas party, special shows, a parade, etc. Didn't know they gave candy to the kids. Looks like Halloween 2007 at WDW for DGD who will be 3-going-on-4 next year!

Cute photo. I think I see m&ms in there... :cool1:

It was 2 or 3 years aog when we went, but I remember Nestle being listed as a sponsor and most of the candy was Nestle brands.

The candy varies from year to year. There was a big Nestle year, as someone else mentioned.

Last year, tons of tootsie rolls-- assorted flavors (who knew there were MINT tootsie rolls?), laffy taffy, nerds, m&ms, snickers, twix, etc. A very good assortment.

Without really trying (never waited on line), we brought home what felt like 10 pounds of candy! Since we didn't want to carry candy all night long, we waited until the end of the night to get some. The CMs were just filling our bags with handfuls of candy to get rid of their stock. They seemed to have cases and cases of it all ready to give out. I felt like I've never seen this much candy. We had enough to give out for Halloween at home!

The amount of candy given seems to vary from CM to CM-- some would give you one piece, others would shovel it in.

We've gone to 4 MNSSHP and we love it! They've really improved with marking the candy areas-- you absolutely cannot miss the stations!

Wow..Our bears are jumping threads! :rotfl2:
I remember as we were leaving the park after the party there were CM's with HUGE bins of candy. They decided our bags were not full enough and proceded to load them up! They must have weighed five pounds or more each.
I have one of the bags hanging up in my kitchen now and believe it or not there are still a few candies in there. :scared1:
Can't wait for this years MNSSHP.

Where exactly are the CM's handing out treats? Do they have designated treat areas, like with hot choc and cookies at MVMCP? Or do they go to the shops, or what?

I went to my 1st MNSSHP last year and I was 33. I had so much fun. I still have candy left over. Of course I ate all the chocolate I was made to say "trick or treat" at several stations to get my candy. I loved the theme music and wished they had a cd of it.

There are designated areas to trick-or-treat. Last year, they were marked with big balloons (I think). We didn't do much trick-or-treating (didn't want to stand in line), and we STILL ended up with about 5 lbs of candy between us. This year, we're going to two parties, so I can't even imagine how much we'll be bringing home! :cool1:

Yup, designated areas marked with huge balloons last year. They were all over and when you go to the party, you can pick up a special map marked with the candy stations.

They also handed out some candy at the end of the parade-- There was a Goofy's Candy Co float and CMs handed candy to the crowds.

The lines, if any, moved really quickly. CMs just shoveled stuff in your bag to get you moving along.

I'll be there 9/29!
