I've read a lot about getting in line very early for the 7 Dwarfs but does the line get shorter as it gets late?
Seems ride lines are way down in the final few hours, is this the case for character lines?

Thanks

It was shorter much later in the evenings, but there was still a good (estimating here now based on where the end of the line was, having stood in it ourselves) 30 minutes or so. I guess for that particular line that is really good. We opted to rather go early - really early. Last year we got in line around 6 pm and we got to the Dwarves about 7.15 pm. We felt that way we lost 15 minutes of party time, instead of 30

I was thinking we'd get in line around 6 too. Can 1 adult stand in the line, while the other adult and kids go ride TM or SP or something? That way, it's not a total waste of time.... I am BESIDE myself with excitement at seeing the Dwarfs, or as my DS4 calls them...the "Hi-Ho's". They are the main reason for me wanting to go. I just can't wait!!!:yay:

There is no way to predict this line. Your best bet is to get in line well before the party starts. You'll still spend a long time in line, but it won't be party time.

I have seen reports of the line being 90 minutes very late into the night.

Last Oct (I can't remember the exact day like 3-4 days before Halloween) we went to the MNSSHP and just happened to walk by the Dwarfs, going for the candy line. No joke there was a 5-10 min line!!:cool1: we jumped in and got a cute picture with the whole family!!

If you do decide to wait until later in the evening to see the dwarves, make sure you don't wait too long. Even though the characters are supposed to be out until 11:30, Disney may cut the line off before then if it's really long. That happened to us last Sept. with the princesses. At 11:00 the line was 60 minutes long so Disney closed it. A wonderful CM took pity on my very disappointed daughter and let us in anyway. But it was a chance I won't take again for important characters.

If the dwarves are super important, I would get in line 5:45-6 pm and get them out of the way. I didn't get in line until 6:30 and waited 90 minutes, losing an entire hour of party time. Even though it didn't work out, our plan was for DH and the kids to eat dinner at Pecos Bill's, while I ate dinner in line, and then he would take them on some rides and trick-or-treating while I waited in line.

A number of families had 1 parent holding the spot in line while the other parent and kids did party things. I think most people will understand and be OK with it as long as you don't have tons of people in your group and want multiple photos.

At MVMCP last year, I got in line at 5:30pm and was 4th in line, they came out at 6:50pm, and by 7:10 we were on our way! The CMs really keep the line moving. My DH kept DS busy and ran in when it was my turn from the opposite side, so as not to push through the whole line. It was really fun to meet the dwarfs all together, and I have some really cute pictures of Dopey with DS.

We had a fairly big party with us on our last trip this past October. We also did MNSSHP and loved every part of it! You will have a blast!:)

As for the dwarf line, we took both approuches. My husband waited in line while the rest of us went around the park trick or treating with the kids and hit some rides and then went back about an hour later and hopped right in when he was next. It worked out great and we were back to the party at 7:15, not a waste at all. No my brother inlaw and his wife and kids, they decided they wanted to try to catch them later in the night, and it worked! They went back late a little after 10:30 and hit no line. It may have been luck of the draw or it may just be sometimes some lines do truly just cut back as the night goes on.

I will tell you after the fireworks you will see the park empty MUCH more but dont forget the party is till midnight.. after those fireworks are you que to get to the "must haves" because you'll catch the shortest lines then, also if you watch one parade an pass on the second thats a great time to hit some rides.. walk on!

I really recommend having one member of your party stay on line while the others experience everything; otherwise it's a big chunk out of your party-time. I think we got there a couple hours in and had an hour-long wait, but the picture we have with the dwarves and Snow White (she was with them, then) is the best! My husband stayed on line and I kept taking my daughter on nearby rides and trick-or-treating.... the lines for rides were pretty short compared to the line for the dwarves, so I think we rode the teacups about 10 times!

My son calls them the Hi Ho's too...always has. Its adorable and I refuse to correct him on it. :bitelip:

I refuse as well! It's too cute. When we saw Snow White last time, he asked her where all the Hi-Ho's were.....it was adorable!

DD4 calls them the same! I think it's just too cute :)

We were there the last week in September last year and the line was always estimated at 45 minutes each time we checked during the evening. We ended up not seeing them and DD was a little disappointed because she wanted so bad to turn "Grumpy" into "Happy" (Snow White even gave her some pointers at Akershus earlier that day on how to do it!)

That is too cute! I feel the same way.. my daughter calls our neighborhood a village, and it's too cute to correct.

Hold onto those little moments for as long as possible!

At MVMCP last year, we got in line right around 6. We were 4th or 5th in line. We had time to see the dwarves, Jack Sparrow, and grab cookies and cocoa and were about 10 mins early for the 7:45 Celebrate the Season show, which was plenty early enough to find a good place to sit.

At MNSSHP last year, we got in line at 5:45 and were the first people in line. The dwarfs came out at 6:50 and we were done with our pictures at 6:57, so we spent no party time in line. It worked out great!
