MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

What types of candy is given away at the party?

I saw a picture in another thread- looked like starbursts, snickers, twix, some suckers- gosh I can't remember all the candy, it was a nice variety and it wasn't the super cheapo stuff :)

That's good! The candy is apparently my oldest sons biggest concern since I told him he couldn't trick ot treat this year!

Funny you should mention that! Our older boys will take our youngest trick-or-treating at home and they can dress up with him, but they aren't collecting candy around our neighborhood. So that makes our October 8 MNSSHP candy collection very important to them!

Now that the first party has taken place and maps, times, etc. have been released, does anyone have a good, comprehensive touring plan to hit most of the party highlights? We have been the past few years but next week we are going (we leave tomorrow morning...woohoo!!) with friends and their 2 kids (girl 8, boy 5) so I'm trying to figure out a good plan of action. Not sure if all this is possible as we usually just casually walk around and see whatever we feel like but here is what we would like to do if someone would help us create a good touring plan.

Dinner ADR at Liberty Tree at 4pm ( we are taking that morning off and doing naps before party and plan on staying until close). I would say we aren't too worried about rides as we will be there a bunch of other times and may be able to fit in a couple between dinner and getting ready for whatever we hit first.

Mickey & Minnie in costume
Pooh in Costumes
Donald & Daisy in costumes
Dwarfs
Jack Sparrow
Candy Trails
Dance Parties (both if possible)
Parade
Fireworks
Get Sorcers Card
Get Halloween only pins

I guess IF we can somehow accomplish all this, we would try to fit in the Villians Mix & Mingle and whatever random characters we come across. We have photopass plus so I know we are going to want to do a lot of pictures when we can too.

Thanks for any help!!!

I am wondering this same thing. About a month ago I was googling about MNSSHP not sure about what specifically but I came up with an exact timeline of a touring plan. Can't remember what site it was but I was sure I would be able to find it again. UGGGGGG! couldn't find it anywhere I looked and I looked for a long time. Anyone have an idea where that could be?

i saw the map on fb, but i cant zoom it in or print it out so that i can see it. anyone have this years map legible? TIA

Well, I spent 20 minute searching for a decent high resolution map. I saw the one the OP said. They also block right click, which doesn't prevent me from doing a screen capture and cropping it, but they are just too poor of a resolution to print. I like the allears PDF map here:

http://allears.net/tp/mk/mnsshp/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party-2012.pdf

High res and you can even print it on 8x17, which is the original format, or it will scale and do "letterbox" on 8x11. I think they took it from the disney site which I only found later. You can search "mnsshp disney" which will let you find the Disney page, then in the first bulk of text description, you will see an easy to miss link to "download the event guide..." just above the orange "buy now" button.

So any info on changes to the party this year? We have gone the past few year and always look forward to it

You might have found the one Josh posted on the easywdw forums. When I just looked, it was the sixth result of a google search for "MNSSHP touring plan." He gives a detailed list of when to do what, including exact times.

I recently moved and can no longer make my annual trip to WDW for MNSSHP. It will be so missed but I am trying to make up for by going to Disneyland Paris next month.

However, my son collects the SOMK cards, the ones given out at the firehouse and behind the Christmas shop. During MNSSHP they are giving out our very favorite Chip and Dale as a card.

Could I please take this time to beg. I would be so grateful if anyone going to the MNSSHP would please consider picking up this free card for my son. I of course am glad to pay for the postage to get it to us.

Just shoot me a PM please and thanks for reading this.

Hey, someone who's really good at this help me with a character touring plan! The must (well, would really like to) do items are as follows:

Meet Genie
Meet Merida
Meet Donald & Daisy (in costume)
Get SotMK card
Both Dance Parties
Parade
Fireworks
Watch Mix and Mingle

Wouldn't mind seeing Pooh & Friends (in costume)
Mickey and Minnie (in costume), but it won't kill me if we don't.

Now, how would you do this and in what order?? Thanks for any input!!

I understand that some of those cards have already hit ebay. You might want to take a look there, but you may want to be sure you are sitting down when you do.

QQ on merchandise - DH and I will be attending 11/2 MNSSHP. Do the shirts and special merchandise sell out before the last party? Thanks in advance.

Wondering how late Liberty Tree will be open on the nights of MNSSHP. I keep reading that you'll need to have reservations before the normal park closing at 5:00. I made a reservation there for 7:30. Will they even be open?

Are the sorcerer cards in a special location??

The party-exclusive one was being distributed only at the Firehouse.

A couple of things.

1. If you were able to get a reservation for that time, then they're open.

2. The park does not close at 5:00p. It doesn't even really close at all, as day guests without party tickets can stay until 7:00p, and the party officially starts at 7:00p.

3. Most importantly, you can certainly do what you like but I cannot overemphasize what you are doing is, in my opinion, a huge waste of party time. You paid around $60/person for 5 hours of party time. By opting to get a table service meal--that you can do any other time of the year--smack dab in the middle of those 5 hours is a waste of time and money. Again, IMO.
