MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

So this will be our first MNSSHP on Thurs Oct 11th. Will it be extremely crowded or do you think we will be able to stroll around the park and take character pics/get candy when we come to them without rushing? I have no idea what to expect but i'm pretty excited :cool1:

I want to see them! What characters? My DD has a Mary costume...and I debated it, but I can't think of something that wouldn't be too hot for me to wear. (Penguin or Bert with a blazer)

Okay, here are our photos from last year.... I did find an exact long jacket like hers at goodwill so it will look even more authentic. Here in AZ it can still be really hot during halloween so the heat isnt a problem. DH has a coat as well, he just took it off for the photo and he has lost about 60 lbs. ( He was on prednisone for an auto imune disease he has) My kids DD 10 will be Jane, I made her a dress and DS 8 will be Michael. They both have vintage style clothing... Dont know if Ill be wearing the shoes though... High heel boots in a park just might kill me. I have mary jane style shoes that Mary Poppins wears as well and are much more comfortable. We'll be there OCT 4th so if you see us say hi! :thumbsup2

I think you should be ok. You're costumes are amazing!! Love them! My husband and I went 2 years ago and he dressed as jack sparrow and looked crazy like him, a lot of people wanted pics and autographs with him (of course we said no) but no cm said anything to him. I'm not sure about dinner but most likely you'll be fine. As long as you don't take sign autographs and actually act like you're the characters you should be ok! We saw some costumes when we were there that were pretty amazing and obviously they got in! :) Hopefully others can let you know for sure about the dinner. Have an amazing time!!

I would like to use my AP discount and want to wait until about a week before we plan to go to the party to check the on the weather. So how far in advance must party tickets be purchased in order to get the AP discount?

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find the answer in this thread or through the search.

We are hoping to go Oct 18th, this will be our first MNSSHP!! :cool1:

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Your question has been answered in Post #1 of this thread. Just look at the requirements for the AP (or DVC) discounts.

Those are awsome!! I didn't think about the Chimney sweep look. Though I would have to get that "sweep" on a plane.
I'll have to think it over.

Here's my DD's costume...I do have to check if it still fits too.

Hi!! - I am going to MNSSHP in September and am super excited!!! :cool1: I have a few questions and was hoping someone could help.

1. Is Main Street open for an hour after the party like it is on regular park days? I want to fit in as much party stuff as possible so was thinking I would shop after 12 but of course wouldn't want to plan on it if that's not how it works on party nights.

2. Does evening weather cool off a bit in September after the sun goes down? I am going to a party the third week of September and was wondering if I would be miserable wearing tights with my costume - THANKS!

The parties we have been to have been in mid October. One was pleasantly warm after the sun went down, the other one was horrifically hot! My dh was Jack Sparrow and declared next year he wouldn't go unless he could wear a Tarzan loincloth, we were all dripping!

If you're not in a store by midnight on a party night, there's a good chance they won't let you in. They tend to close up shop quicker on these than they do on normal days. Your best shot at getting in after midnight would probably be the Emporium, but I still wouldn't count on it.

Thanks mesaboy2 and elgerber - I will have to play it by ear on those two items then I think. It would be fun to buy some Halloween merchandise - but my heart is not set on it and I would rather enjoy more of the party... I think I'll just see how it goes when I get there.

We are there the week of Halloween and I just bought tickets for MNSSHP for the eve of Halloween - Oct 30th!!

I guess this week sells out fast - in June was what I heard - so one less thing to worry about.

Now... to wait until the Sept and someone posts the map and all the good details! :cool1:

Sorry in advance if this is confusing.

We need 33 tickets. My DH and I are both DVC AND Annual Pass holders.

Is there ANY chance that they will let us buy 33?

If not, can we both get 6 DVC tickets and 4 annual pass tickets? That would be 20 discount tickets and then full price for the last 13.

I am hoping that we can get discount tickets for all 33, but I am not holding my breath. I called group tickets and they do not offer a discount on special parties.

Thanks!

I highly doubt it.

I would think your limit would be 14. Technically one person is The DVC Member so that limit would be six (the reservation requires that Membership number), and two Annual Passholders at four each.

Quick question that I was unable to find an answer for yet. Sorry in advance if I've missed it. So the party is on a day that I had planned as a day off from the parks. DH and I are AP holders but the rest of our party will be on the military 4 day hoppers. Will going in just for the party use a whole day of their tickets or is this totally different? I've never done a party. thanks!

The party is a hard ticket, date specific event, so everyone would have to purchase a separate ticket. You can enter MK anytime after 4pm with only your party ticket (no regular ticket necessary). I highly recommend attending if you have the funds to do so. It is a great time!

The last 4 years, we've gone on either the 30th or the 31st of Oct. Well, my son's older now and doesn't want to miss his school Halloween party, so we're going down on the 1st. How busy will the party on the second be? We're used to the crowds on the 31st... but do I need to worry about the tickets selling out for the November party? Thanks!

If they just go for the party, they can use just the party ticket (which they must purchase) and will not need to use the park-hopper at all.

If they want to go before the party, they'll need to use the park-hopper.

Part officially begins at seven, but they have let people in with party tickets as early as four.

oh I hope they let us in at 4! my daughter has an appointment at BBB before the party.
