MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

I had been wondering if tickets had gone on sale. we're planning on going on Friday the 6th. I'm still trying to convince my DD14 to wear costumes- I may end up wearing a t-shirt that says " my daughter wouldn't let me wear a costume "

they go on sale May 1st.

Mousesavers site has just been updated with dates and prices and there are parties listed for September 15 and 22! Never heard of those before (not that it affects my trip but thought I'd mention it).

Here is what it says: "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party 2006 will be offered on September 15, 22, 29, October 2, 5, 6, 10, 12, 16, 17, 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 27, 30 and 31". Click here to link to the page.

Edited to add: The DIS MNSSHP page here is showing those dates too now (exact same as Mousesavers).

Why do you suppose they don't offer any AP discounts from 9/29-10/12??? My whole vacation is in that time, so I can't get a discount this year. Bummer.

Yep - we checked out the dates & were bummed there are no AP discounts for our little trip either. We're planning to be there for my B-Day on 10/6. I guess we'll just pay standard rates. We really want to be at the party this year!!!

Woohoo!! So glad that they've added a date while we are down there (Sept. 22)!!! We went to it a few years ago and have been wanting to go back...thanks Disney!

I'm not sure it's safe to assume that there is a party just because the MK is closing at 6:00.
The official site has EMH posted for 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, and 10/26. I didn't look at September.

Perhaps I am looking at this incorrectly?... :confused3

Those are morning EMH, so they won't be affected by the party. A dining CM confirmed 10/19 as a party night for me when I called to make my ADRs.

Our trip is from the 6-16 of September. A split stay at AKL from 6-9, and then from 9-16 September at the BWV with a 2 bedroom for the 4 of us.

Now got to convince the DW to spend the money for the tickets. Only planned on water park for this day anyway. Could do an ADR at LTT or CP now for about 4-430.

Can't believe I am more excited to go now. Need to fix my ticker to reflect stay at AKL.

I just copied this info from here on The Dis. It says you can get 25% off MNSSHP with AP when buying your ticket on the day of the party. Does anyone know if this is still true?

Specialty Ticketed Events: 25% off "Day-Of" ticket price for the following events at the Magic Kingdom:

Night of Joy
Mickey's NOt So Scary Halloween Party
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
This discount is only available on selected nights and is not applicable to Advance Sale purchases. The Passholder can purchase up to four discounted tickets.

Sorry if this had been discussed already but I was wondering if anyone here has been before and can comment on the weather at the end of September. We are planning to go to the Sept. 29 MNSSHP and want to wear costumes but not be sweating to death all night.

Anyone have an idea of what the average evening temp is that time of year?
Thanks!! :sunny:

We went to the first two parties last year and it was very hot...probably mid 70's at night and upper 80's to low 90's during the day.

I dont know about you guys, but I am setting my alarm clock to make sure I am up and ready to go to call for my MNSSHP tickets. We will be there Oct. 8th to the 15th and the day that we have penciled in for the party is Oct. 12th. I am so excited and I cant wait to go!!!!!! Ok I am done with my outburst! LOL

Mrsscooter,

We are going to be there Oct 7-14 and have Oct 12 as our day for MNSSHP as well. I guess we will be on the phone at the same time. :thumbsup2

This is the problem we ran into last year. DH, my mom, and I had costumes for last year along with my girls. We were going to be Jafar, Queen of Hearts, and Cruella. Well, with my NJ state of mind, I wasn't thinking about it still being hot at night. We decided not to wear ours b/c it would have been too hot and I actually changed my DD2 from a dalmation to Tinkerbell b/c of the heat. This year we're planning costumes with the heat in mind.

This is a huge consideration when planning what to wear. We went last year on October 20th, and it was 90 that day, and at the end of the party, the humidity was 98%. My dh was Jack Sparrow, and while he looked incredible, he was miserable. He got on the bus and said "next year I'm dressing as Tarzan!". It was soooooooooooooooo hot, and September is guaranteed to be hot. My friend and I wore poodle skirts, and our legs were sweating in places we didn't even know had sweat glands  .
