MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

oh, I sure do hope the dates come out soon with the Oct Calender! How can I plan my days out without knowing which day to "reserve" for MNSSHP? ;) :woohoo: I'm hoping they will have a party on the Sun of Columbus Day weekend, but they didn't have one last year on that date, so we will see.

I purchased them directly from a website - I think I recall the tickets being sent in a non-discript envelope with a tiny Disney signature on it, this way no one would know what was in them and hopefully would not be stolen.

We went on the first Friday night it was opened and it was so not crowded.

HOW do you get tickets? Do you purchase them on the actual Disney website?

First they go on sale over the phone. YOu just call the main Disney number...then a couple weeks later, they become available to buy online at www.disney.com under tickets 'special events'.

Hopefully, by mid-April, we'll know the dates and they be for sale by the end of April.

I can hardly wait for tickets to go on sale and also for October to come around so I can go to my first MNSSHP! Thanks everyone for this great information. Is this the official thread or wil there be a sticky?

Glad I am in good company with all you other great folks waiting for MNSSHP!

The first year I was there in October- You could not make ADRs until 90 days out so planning was a snap....the dates for MNSSHP had already been released and in fact, we already had our tickets.

This year, I am going to plan based on last year's dates and pray WDW doesn't decide to do something drastic and change everything around. This year, the toughest thing is also planning around EMH and one evening at LaNouba.....

I would be happy to do MNSSHPtwice in the timewe are there and then do MK one other evening for Spectro and Wishes and that would be really enough time for MK...... :wizard:

Our ADR date is April 4th....but since we are not doing anything big like Cindy's for breakfast....I'm not worrying about getting anything but Donald's breakfast very early on our AK day and getting LTT for dinner one night for MNSSHP. I don't think it will be any trouble getting most of the other ADR's we want even much later. After all, package codes are not out so there will be plenty of availability.....

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm mainly planning our days around early entry and extra magic hours for the ADR's that we do need and I will deal with MNSSHP later in June ...... :maleficen :hmghost:

I've been reading through the threads about MNSSHP and a lot of people plan to go to LTT for dinner before the party. Is there a special reason for this that I am unaware of? Should I jump on the bandwagon, too? hehe! Thanks!

Help!!! :wave2: I have a question that I need some advice on. We are supposed to be going 9/24 to 9/29 and like many who have posted before, hope to attend the MNSSHP on the 29th. :thumbsup2 According to the unofficial guide, :rolleyes1 that last week in Sept. is pretty packed while in Oct. the crowds seem light.....although we were there last Oct. and they weren't that light. :confused3 My question is: does anyone know first hand what the crowds generally are the last of September? Is this a good time to go or would switching to Oct. be a better choice? Any advice would be appreciated. :thumbsup2 And thanks for all the great info everyone gives and posts...it really is a helpful :cheer2: !

Hi! LTT is really fun to do before the party because the characters are dressed with halloween masks. Pluto even had a pumpkin hat on! The CMs were dressed up too, like they were Haunted Mansion ghosts(I think that's what they were suppose to be) It was so much fun and the food was great too! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh I can't believe it's already time to start discusing my FAVORITE time of the year at WDW....MNSSHP!!!

DianaPrincessofWales....Is this the official thread or wil there be a sticky?

The past several years a MNSSHP sticky usually goes up sometime the end of April beginning of May here on TPAS.

Here's a link to last years sticky: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=809958

averill94.... Yes please reply how do you "plan" ADR's etc for other days when you do not kno when MNSSHP will be?
Disney usually releases the dates around the first of May.Perhaps you can make ADRS when you need to then when the party dates are released cancel the ones you don't need.

I believe people like to go there to get in the "Halloween mood" because the characters are in costume there.Crystal Palace has the Pooh characters but in the past they haven't been dressed for Halloween.

Tortuga Joy ...According to the unofficial guide, that last week in Sept. is pretty packed while in Oct. the crowds seem light.....My question is: does anyone know first hand what the crowds generally are the last of September? Wow I think the guide book has that backwards!

The Walt Disney World Triathlon is September 22-24, 2006 but that's just over the weekend.

October USE to be a wonderful, little secret time to visit WDW.Great weather, low crowds, about 4 MNSSHP and 3 weeks of Food and Wine Fest. But the secret is out! :ssst: Also October has become a Fall Break month with a lot of schools so these days it has become a very popular, but very manageable time of year to visit WDW.

If I were you I'd stick with the last week of September. From the MNSSHP reports from last year the earlier parties are much less crowded than the ones in October.Food and Wine Festival runs September 29 - November 12, 2006 at Epcot so you could catch a day of that too.

We go in mid October because of DS school break but if we could I'd go earlier. :earsboy:

Hi Baloo! I'm so excited you posted! It must almost be that time again for a MNSSHP sticky. I love going through the one from last year. So much great information! It's also fun to read the reviews after people attend the parties. It's almost like you're there! I'm so excited to be attending 2 parties this year and seeing Hallowishes! :woohoo:

Can't wait for MNSSHP! Last year was our first and it was a blast. Going to go to more than one party this year. Now just have to decide what to wear! :woohoo:

My youngest who's 2 is gonna wear this

I'm going as an overweight person with bad hair and pimples. In other words, I'm not dressing up. :lmao:

Hi! Just wanted to say that the Alice costume is the cutest! Did you make that? I'm still trying to figure out what to wear. I did see some cute Mickey Mouse Club tees at Walmart. I thought my Mom, sister and I could wear them with some ears, shorts and we'll be good to go! Very easy and comfortable for the first week of October. I heard it was very hot and humid last year. My ds11 is not sure yet, but my dd7 wants to be Tink or Cindy or Mulan or Violet...
