MM Warriors - Three Steps to Good Health (As of 11/18)

Good afternoon everyone! A short day today:cool1: Still pretty chilly out today, about 26* right now. No snow at the moment.

Kate and Robin, you can't taste much of the coconut oil in the muffins. I could because I used 2 tbs. of it, but have used only 1 tbs. before and worked great. And the flavors are really endless. Only if you'd happen to run out of flavorings you may run into trouble LOL. You can also do a chocolate one for a 5x5 by adding your 1 piece of dark chocolate to it then microwave it. I haven't tried it yet though. Maybe later. I mix 1/2 flax and 1/2 ground pecans so it keeps the carb count down ;)

Kate, so glad they figured out what is going on with your niece. Praying that the antibiotics kick in fast.

Lisa, just got your card. Loved the picture. What kind of dog is Bonnie again? Mike asked if she was a Australian shepherd?

Ok, going to get some lunch. Running a bit behind, but on time for my 5 hour feeding.

Catch you all later.

Here's a little entertainment for you all this Friday, enjoy LOL

Ok, need a little help here. I was starting my cards, and on my list, I only have the first 4 digits of Jocelyn's zip code. I have 9681, but not the rest. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks guys.

Beverly - how does that work? You can start the car while you are still in the house so it is warmed up? That would be really nice on a cold, cold morning. I love my seat heaters! They get warm before the heater does.

Bev - what is an automatic car starter? Is that so you can stay in the house when it's really cold and start the car by remote? Sounds pretty nifty.

Yes. I can look out the window and push the button and it starts my car. I just have to remember to set all the dials to the proper position when I get out. It will run for up to 15 minutes, so it will warm up a bit before I get out there.

Thanks Sharron, I think the fact that I CAN sleep this much more lately DOES mean I need it! I cant remember sleeping this much in many many years! I walked into the office to a huge platter of cookies and danish...so here I am visualizing huge globs of fat stuck to my hips and hearing a little voice in my head saying "Get behind me Satan!!"

Hi Bev, I'll be bored all day if you're around to IM!

I am laughing at you telling Satan (and the danish) to get behind me. My problem is the Danish and donuts always get "behind" me. IYKWIM

I've got my AOL AIM on, but I don't see you.

I think it's 96815. By the way, where is Jocelyn? I haven't seen her for the last couple of days.

Lisa, I don't think the hostess will be offended. She probably just doesn't want to put out her guests.

Well, it's 2 weeks until Christmas, and I still don't have a tree up. I think we'll work on it tonight. The kids were asking when we were going to do it.

Kathy: I'm glad you liked the card! Bonnie is 3 herding breeds mixed together on purpose. Her Mom was an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie - that's where she gets her cute black eye and black ear - and her Dad is a blue Queensland Heeler. They were neighbor dogs on farms and bred on purpose because the puppies are awesome. Bonnie is unlike any dog we've ever known - don't get me started, lol!

Here you go. 96801

Thank you Barb. Much appreciated. I now have all my cards done except for mailing them. That will be tomorrow morning. I hope you all like them. I soon as I saw them, I knew they were perfect for all of you.

She is absolutely gorgeous!! If I didn't have Tyson, I would want one just like her!! I bet she loves playing ball due to all the herding breeds in her. Give her a special hug from me :lovestruc

Tyson had his reindeer ears on outside a while ago. It was sooo funny to see him! Is that animal abuse? LOL I did take a video, but don't want to bore you all with it LOL.

Have to head up to my mom's for a while. Today is her birthday, so I am getting a small cake for her. It is just 4 of us unless Alyssa (Mike's DD) goes, then 5 of us.

Later everyone!! May get my tree on the way home. Seems we always get it on the coldest night of the year!!!:confused3

Kathy: Happy Birthday to your Mom! Have fun tonight! You're supposed to be cold when you get your tree, lol! Have fun decorating it!

Bonnie is a frisbee champion. Tom is throwing one as she puts the other on his feet. People come from all over to watch her catch. She also has an automatic tennis ball launching bucket out back and I taught her to put the ball back in the bucket by herself so we can get some yard work done instead of throwing the ball every two seconds. If she gets bored with us, she will stand over the waterfall to the pool and drop her ball in while looking us in the eye because she knows we'll have to stop what we are doing and give it to her again. She is so spoiled, lol! Don't we all love our dogs???

Lisa - I havent made it home yet ,but I hope I got my card....I want to see the picture of Bonnie!! she sounds amazing!

Kathy - I want to see the picture of Tyson in his reindeer antlers!! It doesnt bore us at all to see puppy pictures!!

OK, so I finally broke down and had the toppings off that piece of pizza I have been craving for about 3 months!! and interestingly enough, I am totally full and have no desire for a second piece...how weird is THAT!!

I'm back. We've had a lot of trouble with our internet server and so I haven't been able to get online for a few days.

Kate, I'm so glad that they have figured out what's causing Kristi's relapse. I hope they've found the right antibiotic to treat it and that she's feeling s/w better. Strep usually responds fairly quickly when they find an antibiotic that can kill it. Sometimes there's great improvement in under 12 hours...I hope that's true in her case. Will keep her in my thoughts and put her name back on the prayer rolls at the LA temple. On another note Kate, I found the black soy beans at a small health food store by me and they are by Eden Farms. Good Luck! I really like them as they seem to pick up the flavor of whatever you put them with.

Nell, Sorry to hear about the job...what a bummer! I hope you can feel good about the fact that you got some more experience at being interviewed and putting yourself forward in the best light. You have come so far! This would have been a real challenge for you before MM and now you just breeze right through it. Way to go!:thumbsup2

Lisa, I got your Christmas card and it's so nice to see the whole family. Was it taken on the Calif or the Oregon coast? Bonnie is so cute!

Barb, Hope the rain comes back and you have some relief from the cold. We have had your rain for the past few days along with some of the cold...not as bad as yours though.

Beverly, Were you the one with the banana-pineapple bread recipe? Could you please send it to me here? Hope you find a tree that everyone can agree on and that it's not too cold outside.

Kathy, Thanks for all the links you post for funny, cute things. I enjoyed the ones of Tyson the other day.

Robin, I know that God answers so many of our prayers through other people and was reminded of this again when you told of your experience with your old boy friend and the information you received from him. I'm glad that he responded to the small voice urging him to contact you and that you were ready to be taught and guided. Hang in there and know that my thoughts go out to you.

I haven't really stayed on step 1 very well since I started on tuesday and I'm trying to just stay balanced in my meals and the timing. I have the stress of this marriage that keeps popping up and bowling me over. Haven't had the talk with my husband that I had planned for last monday and hope that I will be less distracted this weekend with no kids around and able to sit down and tell him how I feel and what I want.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend
Carol

Feast upon the Words of Christ

Hi Carol, good to see you back...I was wondering where you were! Sorry to hear you are struggling with the eating and the marriage...what happened to the dinner and a talk idea? I know you had to postpone, but it sounds as though you really need to reschedule so you can get some important things off your mind. Thanks for the affirmation regarding my conversation with Roger...I swear, when I heard his voice for the first time in 27 years it literally took my breath away...I got the most amazing sense of peace and calm...like we had just talked yesterday. I am convinced that God put him back in my life...just 20 minutes before I received his message I had been praying to God for help with words of comfort for Dennis following his first chemo treatment. No way this was just a coincidence! Im still praising God for bringing him back into my life! He tells me that he cried after he hung up too! Such an amazing relief from so many years of wondering and thinking about each other...and finally being able to say we loved and forgave each other for all the craziness of long years past...I felt 10 pounds lighter the next morning! I pray for your continued strength as you deal with your unhappiness and frustrations...

Lisa- I got your card. You are so beautiful and the setting was awesome. Just one thing. You announced that Tom turned 55 in 2009. Didn't you have a birthday in '09 ?

LOL, Good Catch Barb!:lmao::rotfl2:

Evening Pony. Sounds like MM has slain the pizza demon for you  Isn't it amazing where we are now compared to 6 months ago?? Here you are eating only the top off one piece of pizza and I'm planning to spit cookies out of my mouth when I bake tomorrow :rotfl2:

HAHA, Barb! No, as a matter of fact, I didn't. No, I left mine off because it wasn't a milestone. It was 53! There, I said it!:rotfl2:

Aren't we glad we're not doing all these crazy things ALONE??? I'll be spitting butternut squash soup, which I will freeze and cookies. Thank goodness, I'm eating the mushrooms!:worship:

Love you Lisa and you really do look great. You know, it's an unknown fact that each year that we do MM takes a year off our effective age. Really (crossed fingers). All the more reason that slow and steady wins the race ;)

:lmao: You're right, Thank goodness we have someone to share our new eccentricities with. Today I had a client come in. On my desk was a paper plate with a scoop of peanut butter and a spoon on it. He asked me where the crackers were. I told him no crackers, just peanut butter. He didn't say anything but I could tell he thought that was really weird :)

Well, no gym again for me tonight, since I have to be back at work again in 8 hours! OMG...well its the last of the OT available for the rest of the month, so the gym will have to wait til sunday...If Im not totally exhausted when I get home tomorrow night I can run downstairs and spend 1/2 hour on my treadclimber.

Dennis came home from the hospital tonite! He is weak and tired, but glad to be home...they have him on pills and a visiting nurse to check in once a day in case he needs shots too. Praise God!! Rick is hovering like crazy so Im sure Dennis will have to punch him soon to get him to give him some space!! Im sure he is in need of some down time after two straight weeks in the hospital.

Praying Kate's niece will be home soon too!

Natalie - how is your mom?

Lisa - my card didnt come today so I cant tell you how gorgeous you are and how beautiful Bonnie is...darn rural postal service!!

Barb - LOL, my co-workers gag every time they watch me heat up some mashed cauliflower, and pour vanilla Atkins shake into my coffee!! They dont wonder if Im crazy, they are TOTALLY CONVINCED!!
