MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Kate,
It is so nice to see you here again...I have missed you! We fellow Californians need to stick together. I'm am so sorry to read that you have been struggling with the depression carb cycle. Be comforted and know that we all have these monsters in us...it's a major part of the Met B "blessing". Have you tried upping your fish oil capsules to 5 a day? My daughter's OBGYN suggested this to her and she got relief from it. I know for me, cognitive therapy is what did it. Reprograming my mind to think positive thoughts curbed the release of stress hormones and helped me stay balanced. I spent over 2 years in a deep, dark pit unable to take medication due to bad reactions to it. The cognitive therapy gave me back my life and sanity. Metabolism Miracle is now completing the journey. Please come here and talk with us more and know that you are loved and cared about. We all understand what you're going thru with the eating and depression. You are not alone. I wish I could drive up there and give you a great, big hug and brush away your tears. Here's a virtual one:hug:

Sending peace your way,
Carol
Step 2

Feast upon the Words of Christ

Nell: Can you tell me the name of your fish oil? The CoQ10 will be great for you. I take it separately, so it would be neat to have it all in one. I use Nordic fish oil now. I’m so glad you enjoyed your meditation. It’s a wonderful practice and you’ll probably make some new friends. Thanks for the encouragement. I slept for 10 hours and still feel groggy. :confused3

Jocelyn: I was thinking the same thing about those poor people on the Biggest Loser! No wonder so many of them get stress fractures. I really argue with taking people that aren’t used to exercising and making them jump into such workouts. I'm hoping to make your chili this weekend, too!

Robin: I think you could have the blue corn tortilla chips too. Oatmeal is fine. That’s great about your Shakeology. You could make up a portion for the night maybe? Hope you don’t have any more errant herds of critters to catch today! It’s foggy here. I woke up thinking it had rained and it was dense fog so thick it left drops everywhere. Kind of pretty, but glad I’m not out in it right now.

Kate: I wondered if something was going on with you. What can we do to help? Do you think you can go back to Step 1? A detox will make you feel better physically. It’s a journey to feel better mentally and up’s and down’s are common among people like us. You’ve had a lot of transition this year. Meditation class might be a great thing for you, too. I often thought about hypnosis as a tool to deal with food cravings. I’d be willing to give it a try if I felt out of control again. Either that or acupuncture, which helped my Mom stop smoking. I imagine it would be the same principle for anxiety or food cravings. There must be a lot of good practitioners in the Bay Area. Have you ever considered acupuncture? Please don’t stay away; we all need each other’s support. We love you, Kate! Thanksgiving is coming very soon and the family will all be under one roof and you will feel better, but get off the carbs now so you can fully enjoy those good times!:grouphug:

Tomorrow is my Mom’s birthday and I am taking her out for the day so hope you all have a wonderful Friday.

Kate: I just thought of something else. Your mood change has come very close to the time change. I get very off when it's dark for a long time at night and I wonder if it is contributing to your slump, too. That and having your DH working so late means you are alone and it's dark. Sounds very familiar! Reach for the phone and call one of us or another good friend and try to think up some projects or things you enjoy to occupy part of the long evening. Maybe we should go to the gym at night like Robin does!

Hi Sherry - good to see you here at least once in awhile! I did see some information on Celiacs while researching stomach bloating...I dont seem to have any of the symptoms of either that OR wheat sensitivity...just the upper abdominal distension, no IBS, or other things they listed...Diane just said to try gluten free for two weeks to see if it made any difference, which I am going to try, then to get checked out and blood tested if it does seem to help...so thats my current plan!! How are YOU doing??

Lisa - yep, those blue corn chips would work too...thanks! Did I happen to mention that I HATE CARBS NOW!!! Why cant I just stay on step 1???!!! PLEASE!!!! I know, I know...stop whining!! Have a nice day out with your mom tomorrow!! I think I want to change to Nell's fish oil too...what does the COQ10 do for us again? I know my doc had recommended it once before...I kind of forgot about it til now! I wonder if I should be taking more than the 2 fish oil a day anyway?

Off to research and see if there are any herbal supplements specifically for stomach bloating...you never know, seems to be one for everything else!!

I did check out the interval training...I think I need to lose some more weight before I try it though! Looks like it is basically running like your #*#* is on fire for 60 second intervals during the regular treadmilling...OMG, not sure I need to be running with 230 pounds on these poor little feet!!

Hi Pony!

I'm glad to hear you don't have the other symptoms! I am doing better, I have cut back on my carbs so I'm eating them at meals and feel better, but I'm still waiting for the scale to move :-) I would like to stay on step 1 as well.

You are such an inspiration with your dedication to working out! I wish I had the dedication. I get it in once in a while but don't seem to be able to keep it up.

I put my mom on MM 7 weeks ago and she went for a blood test yesterday to check her VERY high cholesterol. I'm praying for a much improved number! She is very happy on step 1 too and says she feels better than she has in 30 years. We'll see how she does on step 2.

Take care!
Sherry

Nell! Where are you??!! You gotta see this! Robin's researching herbs! I know! (Try enzymes, Robin) :lmao::lmao::lmao:Love you, Pony! Hope you find the cure. Hey, don't ponies get puffy bellies from some kind of grain?

Thank you for the support. I feel better just posting and knowing that I am loved. I am back on Step 1 today and so far, so good (well, I have only been awake for 4 hours....). I did email Diane and will let you know if she has any feedback for me.

Sherry - The thing with the exercise just kind of snowballed when they opened that new 24 hour access gym in my little rural town...have to really talk myself into going sometimes, but I feel so GREAT after I go, that now I just automatically head there after work...it totally helps that I have to drive right by it on my way home!! I seriously feel worse on the days I dont go! Less energy and kinda like a slug!

Lisa - researching that did me no good...seems that abdominal distension is almost always associated with IBS and chronic digestive issues, which I definitely do not have....RATS...what about probiotics? Anybody taking those? And much to my complete and total DISMAY, the only thing I saw recommended to help the bloating was....drum roll....fennel tea...OMG, that sounds even worse than Green Tea!! :scared1:

Kate - that is so great that you are back on track...step 1 is like going home to open arms for me!! Let me know if Diane says you can stay on step 1 forever...I will be by your side in a heartbeat!! Step 1 ROCKS!

Kate: Take it 5 hours at a time.:hug:I'm so glad you are back.

Have you ever had fennel in soup? It's a pretty tame white root like a celery root. Wonder if there are probiotics in your shakeology? We took a ton of them in Green Vibrance. Warning: it is really expensive, but was the best way to get lots of greens into the hubby when he was sick. He juiced, too. You can juice greens, but not fruit.

Bright and sunny this moring, Laura. The weather people were talking about a storm, but no evidence of any rain yet. The weather reports are "so boring" - sun and more sun, that they try to get people interested in watching!!! I look out my window in the morning and decide what the day will be like!

Macadamia nut coffee is yummy - especially chocolate macadamia nut coffee!!!:)

That sounds yummy!! My friend was going to bring me chocolate covered macadamia nuts but she said I was doing so great on my WOL! she didn't want to mess me up. How sweet is that?

Hi Barb! Yep, vacations definitely wear you out! Seems kind of ironic, doesn't it. They should call them adventures rather than vacations! With the almond and also coconut flour, a light topping would be free, in bulk for cooking has to be counted. I think the benefit of using it is that it comes out so much lower in carbs that we can fit it in. I still want to try the coconut flour muffins recipe that Diane gave us.

Jocelyn, that's how the weather was in Puerto Rico. They tried to look for things to get excited about because every day was the same. I'm glad that you like it. I was miserable without seasons!

Laura, your tea sounds wonderful. I couldn't find my red Rooibos tea here for less than seven dollars a small box, so I ordered it from vitacost. It came and it's a mix of herbs and I actually like it! Usually I don't like the herb mixed tea. I like peppermint or ginger, but I like it plain.

Hey Lisa, you up yet? Opps, just saw you answered Robin this morning. So whatcha doin?

Pony, enjoy your rainy weather! Make a hot drink and curl up with your dog and a book!

I got some nice photos of Buddaka. I'll post it on Facebook later. I am attempting again to go to the meditation tonight. Last week I didn't make it. I'm really nervous about going somewhere that I don't know the people. I know the person I'm going with, but not that well. I never will get to know people though if I don't get brave and step out. They hold this meditation weekly for a small donation, and I know it will be good for me. It's just doing it. What do I wear anyway?

Well, I've got a chicken to cook! Yay! I'm in the mood for a baked chicken. The low is supposed to be 60 tonight, so it shouldn't heat the house too bad. It will be nice to be able to shut down the air and open this windows too!

I got mine from Amazon.

Robin, it sounds like you and I are built a lot alike. At 228lbs I was hard as a rock all over, my body mass was so dense that no one believed me when I told them my weight. Add heavy muscle packed under it all and I was like a rock wall. My stomach was just as you describe as well. I've always had the opposite problem than most over weight people, I look much smaller than my actual weight. My tummy looks like a landslide of soft mush going south right now, hate it! But it's great not having that dense, hard, heavy feeling that I had for so darn long. My initial though is that you need to give it more time, and to not assume the worst. I know people develop allergies all the time, and what you fear maybe a possibility. I like Lisa's idea of using other forms of carbs for the fourteen days, couldn't hurt. This is really a tough one.:confused3 So what more have you found out about the interval training? Anything promising?

Lisa, so nice to see you manage to keep your sense of humor even under stress. ::sliding my mug of green tea over::: It has to feel good and hopeful knowing that two lawyers confirm that there is no real case against you. My continued good wishes on this one.

I can't find or remember who it was that recently announced that they can't take artifical sweetners? Me too!! I get massive headaches and tummy aches when I use them. I feel like I'm missing out at times but then remember how bad they make me feel and I get over it real fast. Something funny I dicovered a couple weeks ago. I snitched a piece of a chocolate cookie and the real sugar has also taken on an artifical taste for me. This absolutely cannot be a bad thing!

Going to say good night once again. Have a restful night everyone!

Have you guys tried the Stevia in the Raw? Much better than the Stevia Extract it doesn't have an after taste and won't mess with your head or stomach.

Pony, Have you been eating alot of beans since you started step 2?

OK Where the H*LL is everyone? :confused3
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
Pony I sure hope you aren't out in the rain for someone elses cows, That would tick me off too!!

Kate: Hang in there, don't go back to the meds!!! Have you been exercising? That will help with the depression :thumbsup2

Y'all can keep your birdseed crackers, I would rather have NONE than those horrible things!! LOL I'll probably have nightmares thinking about dunking them in green tea...:scared1:

Hope y'all have a great night and may your olives and birdseed and green tea and seaweed and mushrooms and sardines and whatever stay right in your own kitchen cupboards!! LOVE YOU!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

:sick:Just thinking of Robin eating olives, birdseed, seaweed, mushrooms and sardines then washing that all down with Green Tea.

Pony, I sure hope you are right about the exercise! I won a gift certificate for a 3 month membership to our local Indoor Pool Exercise and Physical Therapy facility. They do a few exercise classes in the evening so I'm going to give it a try and hope I get addicted like you :worship:

Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Sherry
