MLK weekend vs first week of Jan for crowd levels

I’ve been to both. I’ve found it to be very busy whenever there’s is a Monday holiday following the week. The closer you get to the weekend the busier it gets. If possible maybe try to go Thursday to Thursday leaving before the MLK weekend. I have found that works.

We were there Dec 29-Jan 5 this year, and Jan 2 was the most crowded I have ever seen at MK. We have been over July 4, Spring Break (not Easter though), and Labor Day weekend (but Dorian was coming so...)
