MLK weekend---dirt cheap hotel!

Hello all!

Just booked Desert Inn & Suites for MLK weekend---cheapest I've ever paid! I expected it to be high due to the long weekend, but it wasn't at all. Reg room is $59, Parlor suite was $79.

Anyway looking for a cheap long weekend---check it out! But let's not tell too many people...

I've been debating on whether or not to go then. But with the rates you got, maybe I'll go ahead and reserve something and cancel later if needed.

That's a great deal!!! Especially since that's not a bad place to stay at all. It's not the Ritz, but it's clean, comfortable and extremely close to the park entrances. Plus it's the only place with an indoor pool, which you'll need that weekend if you want to swim!

What is MLK? I'm sure as soon as someone spells it out for me I will feel like a complete idiot but I couldn't help but ask.

Martin Luther King day. Jan 15. Some schools have the day off.
Makes for a nice weekend run to DL.

I soooo want to go back, and am really hoping to talk dh into going November 2007, for the kids' birthdays. I really wish I could talk him into a quick trip in January.

Desert Inn


I'm surprised. I priced MLK weekend and the following weekend. For some reason the holiday weekend is cheaper. I would have thought it would be reversed.

I too am staying at the Dessert Inn for MLK weekend. My DD turns 10 the following weekend and we are suprising her. Does anyone know if the park is usually busy during those days? We got the 2 room suite for $99 a night!!!

I booked the 2 room suite for $99 that weekend too! See ya there! My niece, who lives with me, turns 4 on the 21st, so we're going for her b'day too!

I was there this year for MLK weekend - right before her 3rd b'day - so she was still free - and it wasn't too crowded...but it did rain, which wasn't very fun. Hoping for better weather this time!

Better weather would be wonderful. I wouldn't care if it rained though. It has been 14 years since DH has been, 3 years since I have been and 4 years since DD has been. We can't wait. Although DD doesn't know we are going.
