MLK Weekend and early May crowds???

We're planning two trips for the upcoming year, and are wondering about crowd levels. DH has a trade show over MLK weekend, and we plan to go the parks the Tue, Wed, Thu after. We have been in January before, but during marthon weekend, and are wondering how busy things are given the MLK holiday.

We are also trying to plan a 2nd trip early to mid may. Any crowd info then?

Great minds think alike. We have a trip booked for Jan.15-22 (MLK weekend) Staying at WL. In addition to Monday being a USG holiday, Thursday 20th is also a USG holiday. Weather can be very cool to cold. We were there last year and it was in the 80s--that was great, but not normal. Crowd level low, but bring warm close to wear.

We also booked our May trip (April 30-May 14) staying at Pop Century. Crowds are a whole different story here. While it's pretty manageable, the levels are moderate, please check on the threads regaring the 05/05/05 celebration kicking off DL's 50th birthday. This is going to make a difference on the crowd levels this year, so all bets are off. After that weekend, the crowd level should go back to normal. We just don't know what is in store in terms of promotions and activities that will affect the resorts, parks, crowds and other activities. We'll be there regardless to help celebrate and open the new attractions!! Can't wait!

We were there this the first week of May in 2003 and 2004. I personally thought it was quite crowded especially the MK. In 2003 we never could get into Playhouse Disney at MGM. Epcot was nice though and not crowded even with large school groups. At MK we had to wait at least 45 minutes for most attractions. We are trying October this year.

we are thinking of doing MGM late april or may........maybe not such a good idea....altho it may be crowded, dh won't suffer from heat!!
