Hi have just booked my disney holiday for 2 weeks 18 Jan - 1 Feb 2010.
I booked these dates thinking the crowds would be very low but after reading several threads I am concerned I might have booked the wrong dates.
As I am from UK I do not know a great deal about this day and wondered do people forom US celebrate this day for a day or a week.
I know MLK day is 18 Jan 2010 but I will not arrive until later in the day so am not bothered about that day just the rest of the dates.
Please can anyone put my mind at rest.

Since it makes the weekend longer, alot of people may plan vacations around that, and take an extra day (Friday before), so their trip may be Thursday night thru Tuesday.

I think there may be increased crowds maybe thru Wednesday for people taking extra days, but it is not like Easter or Christmas, where people and schools get and entire week off.

I think there is a marathon around this time as well, but I think that affects only the weekend. I'm not sure about the exact dates on that though, it might be the weekend before.

I am booked Jan 26 - Feb 9. I've read as long as you are after MLK, and before President's day you should be ok.

There may be some school groups and foreign country tour groups at this time of year, but the best way around that is when they zig you zag ;)

But nothing like summer or holiday crowds!
