How lucky that we’re going to have an actual World Series this year. I would have preferred the Brewers to be in though. Nice to also see the FIRST EVER broadcast of such a series to be produced by the Canadian rights holders, unlike 2015 when Sportsnet was only allowed to show either US slanted TBS/FOX broadcasts or the international feed.

I was happy to see the highlights on the local news showing the 3 run blast that won it for the Blue Jays! Hopefully it'll be a good, competitive World Series

My connection to the Dodgers

On July 21,1970 Steve Garvey hit his first home run...on my 14 birthday.... and entered high school to the discover the meanest P.E. teacher on earth

1982 Steve Garvey is in conflict with the Dodgers new contract...as they thought they had a drafted player to fill his shoes... so Garvey signed a 6.6 million contract over 5 years with the Padres and in spring of 1983 in Yuma he gave my future father in law a signed autograph 8x11 color photo

Greg Brock...son of the meanest pe teacher on plays first base for the Dodgers and leads the league in hitting 1983.... UNFORTUNATELY... university of Wyoming and Oregon santiam canyon have League play with minimal pitching skills and half way through the season...pitchers know how to pitch to my Oregon classmate and his hitting disappears and Daryl strawberry wins rookie of the year

My connection to the Dodgers. I went to the same high school as former Dodger pitching great Orel Hershiser. He graduated 1976, me in 1979. No, we never met and I unaware of his existence until the mid 1980s, a few years before his 1988 phenomenal WS performance.

...was it a large high school????... my school was middle population according to Athletics board division of schools... Greg Brock and I spent our summers picking strawberries in the same cannery agriculture fields for wages...he was a friendly individual...as for his dad... standing room only at his memorial
