they are the exact same price right now for direct flights to MCO.
$$88 /pps each leg non stop ($ 190 or so a person)
Midwet actually has better times, Fly out at 7:25 am, arrive @ 11:05
Depart MCO 11:35, arrive home @ 1:25

which would you pick? and why?
* never flew w/ Midwest, but my sister says it's nice, i have flown w/ Aitran before.

Hello neighbor! ;)

We have flown both. I like Midwest because I can pick my seats without a fee and that is where I have my frequent flyer miles. Both are probably fine, just pick the dates and times that work best for you. I have heard Airtran changes their flight times frequently. I did have Midwest do that to me once, but that was last fall when they were sold and all of that business took place. I did get on non stop flights though, and still were sitting together as a family.

I booked my spring break flights this morning on Midwest! They just released their Xmas and spring break fares this AM - $176.00 round trip, I didn't think that was bad. I needed seven seats and we are all together on the plane. Woo Hoo! Only nine more months........................:sad1: Wish it were sooner!

Sweet glad you got a great fare!

I am pretty sure you have helped me our before your name looks framiliar :)

Anyways - I am just starting to look at AF for our October trip, and i was toying with the idea of waiting until SW releases thier new MKE fares (end of June i heard) but i saw that Midwest had a good price..........not sure what i should do, - should jump on something now or wait until the end of the month? I am getting closer, and i would afriad to wait to long and have to pay alot more :wizard:

would you wait to see what SW has or book the Midwest while it's cheap??

Tina

I would book now. I thought I remember hearing that Southwest will not be flying out of Milwaukee until some time in November, but don't quote me on that.

I love Midwest and I if the price was the same or even close I would book with them. They rarely change the flight times and if they do it's usually just a by a few minutes. The exception being as the PP mentioned when they were undergoing the major changes in restructuring (or whatever you want to call it). They just do not fly everywhere I need to go and they have removed many of the flights that they used to have so we no longer fly with them as much as we used to (not that we fly a lot anyway). But I do fly Midwest whenever we can if the prices are compatible with the other airlines and they are going where we want to go.

I am waiting to book my Dec flights to MCO until after SW enters the field. When Airtran started to fly to MSP, the rates dropped on NW, Midwest and Airtran all due to a pricing battle. They were up to about $300 or more for rountrip and I got roundtrip for $98 after the fare wars started. I've got flights booked to MSP through Nov at that cheap rate.

I suspect there will be the same fare wars for Orlando. I had flights booked last year for Midwest until they canceled them and screwed up my plans. I switched to Airtran for all of our trips in the last year and never looked back. I like Airtran being able to book exit rows at a slightly higher cost or being able to upgrade to business class. Their flights always seem to be on time or early where as with Midwest, I'd gotten used to them always being late.

I'm a converted Midwest fan to Airtran. I gave my "save the cookie" tshirt to charity.
