Hi! WDW newbie here! We're planning our first family trip to a theme park ever to WDW in mid November. We have a week at BLT and are planning on 2.5 days at MK already. My kids are 7 yo boy (with Autism, but verbal and enjoys fun but difficulty adjusting to new things at first), 5 yo girl (kind of a daredevil and princess obsessed) and an almost 2 yo boy.

Given we're staying close to MK we definitely want to go the day we arrive, prob early afternoon, but can't stay late because of MVMCP and prob do chef mickeys for early dinner. We plan to spend the next 2 full days at MK and then the Christmas party later that week and another day out last day to do what we liked best (either MK or Epcot again).

So I'm hoping to use our arrival afternoon as a "warm-up" for my kids to see the MK, ride some mild rides, see some basic characters. We're going to focus the next day on fantasy land. My question is...where do we start at MK? What are some good beginner rides with short waits? Suggested beginner FP for afternoon? (I'm already going to try and get the mountains, 7D, Anna and Elsa, etc.) for later in the week :) at MK

I wouldn't necessarily use my FP on "warm-up" rides because what happens when those FP are done? The rides that I would consider for "warm-up" rides would probably not have as long of a wait anyway, and then what happens when you are done with them? If you would want to ride a more thrilling ride, you would have a much longer standby wait. I think you should be able to do some more tame rides such as IASW, Tea Cups, Carousel with less than a 30 minute wait. In the afternoon you may even be able to get in to see Tinkerbell or Mickey with not too long of a wait. I would probably use the FP for PPF because that can get quite a long line. If seeing Mickey is important for that first day, I would maybe use a FP there too. Then I would probably consider getting a FP for a more thrilling ride (probably 7DMT if I could get it) because it might be good to test the waters early so you can make adjustments for your future days. It is MUCH easier to go back and change the FP to a more tame ride than it will be to change it to one of the mountains or 7DMT the day of.

So - I actually would have suggested doing part of Fantasyland the first afternoon...... Dumbo, Barnstormer, IASW, maybe a FP for Peter Pan.

BUT - since you want to spend day two there, I'd make my first stop Town Square Theater with Mickey - get a nice picture. Take your time walking down Main Street.

Head to the LEFT - maybe the Magic Carpet ride. Get a FP for Jungle Cruise. Maybe Country Bear Jamboree or Hall of Presidents. Ferryboat. Treehouse. Tom Sawyer's Island. Ride the train. See the afternoon parade? If you have longer in the day - Tea Cups, Carousel, People Mover, IASW.
