My dh will be in mtngs on site (not sure if it's the swan or dolphin) for 4 days the 2nd week of Oct. 03.

I will be there during the day with my 1 1/2 yr old dd & 3 3/4 yr old dd.

What's best leaving the kids with a sitter (already have one in mind from Super Sitters - Katherine- who sat for us in May 03) & having a few hours in MGM by myself or paying for her to come with us?

We will be leaving in 3 weeks.

I have NEVER had this little time to prepare for a trip!!!!!!!!!

I'd chose going by myself - at least for one outing. You can get SO much more done - especially if you want to ride things there that your kids cannot (like ToT or RnRC). The only thing my littles ones cared for at MGM was the Playhouse Disney show and you can always go back just for that if you really want to. Either way should work out however. I guess it depends on if you really want some "me" time or not on your trip! I wish my DH would get sent on business trips to Orlando! :jester:

Carol,
Thanks for the post. I do need/want me time & would enjoy being in MGM by myself.

Gee, I could use a bathroom w/out wondering if my DD1 will meltdown 'cause the toilets are TOO loud when they flush! :Pinkbounc I could also eat ALL the cotton candy I want w/o cleaning up 2 very messy DD's.

I plan to take them to MGM for Playhouse Disney. I'm not sure if the girls would last for more than 4 hours & not sure if the price of the sitters ticket would be worth it.

We plan on purchasing our AP for this trip so I won't feel that I have "wasted" a park hopper.

My DH was surprised by this trip! So were we!

I've read about baby sitting services that take your kids to the parks for you. I don't know if this includes park admission or not. I would call the Swan/Dolphin and ask. I'm sure they are used to dealing with this since it's such a big convention hotel. I think if the 3 yo is potty trained, she can go to the Camp Dolphin kids club.

It sounds like you will have to go to MGM by yourself to do Tot and RnR--my two faves. Won't dh have any time off, or can you find another spouse to tour the parks with and give you a hand. My 3 yo loved MGM. Along with Disney Playhouse, he liked Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Muppets 3D, and seeing the characters.

We also stayed at the Dolphin. It's so close to MGM and Epcot that it was easy to go back to the room for a nap and then return later in the day. If you have to go to a park with just you and the kids, Epcot might work better. World Showcase is a nice laid back place, and my son loved it.
