I have 2 questions:
1. We staying at All Star Movies and have reservations for Whispering Canyon at the WL. We will be going from MK to dinner.
Would you suggest taking the bus or boat and what would be the best way to get back to our Hotel after dinner?

2. One night we will be eating over at the Boardwalk. I am with the in-laws so I want to cut down the walking as much as possible.
We will be coming from our hotel so should we head to park and catch the bus to the Boardwalk or head to EPCOT and take a boat ride?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

The boat is certainly a pleasant way to get to the WL, so I would suggest that. As far as getting back to ASMo, the quickest way would be to get a cab back, otherwise you would have to go to a park or the TTC and then transfer to the appropriate bus.

As for the boardwalk, I would suggest taking a bus to DHS, then taking the boat to the Boardwalk. If you go to EPCOT, you would have to walk from the park entrance all the way to the International Gateway in World Showcase to get to the boat. The dock at DHS is a short walk away from the main entrance.

Hope this helps!

Actually, it depends on what time your ADRs are.
I would take the boat to WL from MK...very nice boat ride and the walk up from the boat dock to the resort is beautiful. If MK is still open, when you're done eating, take the boat back there and the bus to Movies.
But, if MK is closed, check and find out what park is open late..then take the bus from WL there and transfer to the Movies bus. Or, just take a cab from WL.
For Boardwalk..if you park at Epcot and walk over to BW, it's going to be about 25 mins of walking. If you just want to eat at BW, and aren't planning on going to Epcot or DHS after your dinner, I would just drive to BW and park there. You could even do valet parking (about $15) and get dropped right at the front door. You can self park, but I would suggest dropping the others at the door and then park the car.
If you want a boat ride, I would park at DHS and take the boat to BW from there...not including wait times, the ride takes about 20 mins.

goofy4tink: i don't think OP has a vehicle.

so, OP, if you don't have hoppers and/or don't want to use a park day on tix, i wouldn't go to/through Epcot - waaaaayyyy too much walking. I would bus to DHS and boat to BW.
Or, bus to Downtown Disney and bus to BW. - I prefer the first option because the boat ride can be so relaxing.

roydavid - unless things have changed recently - downtown disney is the transportation hub, not TTC (which, by virtue of it's name it should be, but isn't really) :goodvibes

Duh...you're right. Second your thought....head to DHS and boat over to BW.

We have park hoppers and don't have a car so using Disney transportation. I don't mind walking but my father in law needs 2 knee replacements so just trying to cut the walking down as much as possible. Our reservations are for 5:15, although I may try to change that to a later time.

So sounds like going to DHS and taking the boat may be the best way. Thanks for all your advice and anything else you can add.

When taking the boat from Hollywood Studios to the Boardwalk here is the order of stops after you leave from there.

1. Swan/Dolpin

2. Yacht Club/Beach Club

3. Boardwalk

4. Epcot

If you are leaving WL in the vicinity of 9pm-10pm I would take the boat launch back to MK and bus back to your resort.

The Electrical Water Pageant runs on Bay Lake starting at 9pm (9:35pm at WL) and is really fun to see from one of the boat launches. :thumbsup2
