MK to TPA

have an 8pm flight out of Tampa on Sunday 8/31. What time should we leave MK?

Usually fly out of MCO so not sure on travel time airport security etc. Thx

8/31 is Monday not Sunday. If you are flying out on Sunday, It will take about 70 minutes from WDW. I would leave WDW around 5pm. It is quick and easy to get thru security at TPA. If you are flying out on Monday, you better allow an extra 1/2 hour to 40 minutes because of rush hour traffic. We always fly in and out of TPA.

Yes flying out on Monday. Was figuring leaving MK by 4. Thinking to take monorail then drive - 2 hrs? Wanted be at airport around 6 to give time to return car and go through security

Keep in mind that there is quite a bit of construction going on in downtown Tampa along I-275. I've been to Tampa twice in the last year and at times I have been parked on that interstate because of the construction.

Personally I would not do a park on a day I was traveling out of TPA so I could leave early and hit up a restaurant in Tampa before my flight. I don't like pushing it when I'm flying from an airport in another city.

Squeezing in disney for a few days as prt of trip so skipping Monday is not option. Kids would kill me! Lol. Plus flight is 8pm don't want to hang out in Tampa all day

Guess we'll leave between 3-4pm then. Gives us a good 6 hrs in park and plenty of time to get to airport

I love TPA! So much nicer and easier than MCO. Anyway...yes, traffic can be brutal, especially at the time you'll be traveling. I did it, in reverse, on a Sunday night....still plenty of traffic at 2pm!!! Anyway...for an 8pm flight, I would plan on leaving MK no later than 3. That gives you time in the park, and you shouldn't have to worry overly much about getting to TPA in time. That gives you 3 hrs.....should be more than enough. Grab a bite to eat at the airport.
