MK to Poly on monorail?

I need to tell my neighbors when they need to leave MK and get on the resort monorail to get to the Poly for a 5:25 PM 'Ohana ADR. This is their first time to WDW and will be their first day there and first time at MK. Need help opn timing please!

For a 5:25 ADR, they should be at the podium at 'Ohana by 5:15. This means they should be at the MK monorail platform by 4:30. It takes about 15-20 mins to get from MK to the Polynesian via the monorail. There could be a 10 mins wait for the monorail to come....so you need to plan on at least 30 mins total. I say 4:30 because I like to be early.
If the boat is there, they could take that as well. Leaving at the same time.
Or, they could take the Express Monorail to TTC and then walk over to the Polynesian...about 8-10 mins.

Regardless of the transportation method, at least 30 minutes in advance. Better early than late. Personally, I'd take the resort launch with one stop at GF. It's the gold flagged launch and IMO faster and more reliable than the monorail. It will drop them at the dock directly in front of the GCH and a short walk to O'hana.

Should your friends take the Resort Monorail after it leaves at the Magic Kingdom it will then stop at the Contemporary and Transportation & Ticket Center before arriving at the Polynesian, so I would tell them that in advance.

The good thing is when taking the Resort Monorail once they arrive at the Polynesian they are let off on the 2nd floor of the Great Ceremonial House and on the other side is Ohana, so they won't have far to go.
