MK to Ohana and Back; How Long Might It Take?

It will be a Tuesday in September. Spending the day in MK. We will have tickets for MNSSHP. We'd like to hop out of the MK at some point with ADR's for an early supper-late lunch at Ohana before the party. (3pm?) I m thinking it might be more like 2 hours total, travel and dinner. I hate to take time from the park, since we typically stay open to close, but want something other than the options in MK. Should I consider it might be more time than that?

Does Ohana serve lunch? For some reason I thought they only had breakfast and dinner there

Dinner at O'hana starts at 3:30 pm. I would be at the monorail station by 3 pm, dinner will take at least an hour to 90 minutes and then another 15 minutes to half hour to get back on the monorail, so you probably wouldn't be back at MK until 5 pm at the earliest.

Good point. I had not looked at that. Seems like dinner service begins at 5pm. Well, guess we'll try something else! Just not too thrilled with dinner options at the MK, with BOG up in the air about dinner.

Agree with the 3:30 ADR, not back to MK until 5 or 5:30.

As you walk out, check and see if a boat is at the dock. If so, take the boat. If not take the monorail. Timing really depends on how quickly you get seated and how fast the servers come around with the different courses (salad, meats, etc). I wouldn't plan less than an hour to eat, then about an hour to and from Poly. Could be more.

They have reservations for dinner starting at 3:30. The nice thing about an early Ohana reservation is that you're seated on time. We've done the 3:30 reservation before and loved it. It can be a quick dinner or you can take your time. I usually feel like they're trying to get us out fast...we don't mean to dawdle...I just need a minute before I can start on the bread pudding!

Even with a 3:30p seating, you likely won't be back in the MK till 5:30p.

We've done early dinner at 'Ohana and then MNSSHP at least couple of times. We don't get back over to the MK until later than expected, there's always something that delays us whether its slower service or transportation issues. It is a good chunk of time spent away from the park that you probably don't want to do, 3 hours sounds about right.

I checked on some of the other MK resort area dinner options, and they generally open at 5:00 which would cut into your early-entry party time. 'Ohana appears to be the earliest at a 3:30 opening and perhaps the best option if you really want to leave the park to eat.

Since you are an open-to-close kind of gal, I suppose you've considered and perhaps tried all the MK options. For what its worth, we enjoy Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern and they don't close during the day between meals. I'd be tempted to try The Plaza, also.

We did this last Monday. Left MK by monorail and of course we got held at every station. We had a lovely family in our car that we were talking to and lost track of time. They did mention that they were over an hour late for dinner at GF 1900 Park Fare because they did not allow enough time. We made it to ‘ohana with 5 mins to spare.

I would allow 3 hrs to be safe - round trip by monorail.

If the boat is at the MK dock, that might be faster.

We had a 3:15 ADR at the plaza on a party night and it was great! We were seated in the gazebo room near the end of the Main Street bypass and enjoyed seeing all the partygoers in their costumes coming through. Funny seeing how many men were carrying the candy bags and already sampling after just that short walk

We hope to get a similar time again this year.
