Is the pathway from Saratoga Springs to DTD open and if so, how long is the walk? (and what bus stop at SS)

Or, would it be better to bus to POFQ and take the boat?

Or, is there a better option?

Thanks

There should be a boat that takes you directly from SS to DTD. At least there was when I stayed there years ago.

Go to your resort and then get on the DD bus

That all depends on which resort they're staying at. No sense in doing this if they're staying at, for instance, AKL. That's just going out of the way.

I know the walkway from SS is open, but don't know any more than that! I'm also interested in more details about how this would work.

New SSR/DTD walking bridge is open. (Has been for several months.)
"Congress Park" is the bus stop you want at SSR.

The walk from SSR to DTD is very easy.
Of course DTD (new name: Disney Springs) is very large and in the throes of construction.
Depending on where you're headed at DTD can make a huge difference in your walking once you're at DTD.

It is like a 3 min walk...it is pretty much right there. Bus stop is Congress Park.
I may get my head bitten off for saying this but have some consideration for the actual resort guests and dont take up seats on the bus when you are using this as a cut through. It is beyond annoying to be on a packed bus and half the people on it are asking how to cut over to DTD.

You're allowed to use Disney transportation anywhere within the resort, whether you're staying at that resort or not. It's parking at resorts when you're staying offsite that's the issue.

So, OP, I would recommend POR if you decide to take the boat.

We have stayed at SS several times and the buses are very full because of people doing this. The walk from the bus stop is actually pretty far. Do yourself a favor and ride the bus to your resort and then to DD.

So is it a long walk? Or is it 3 minutes, pretty much right there, as someone else said?

And people use all sorts of resort transportation, especially for ADRs. How else would you get to any of the restaurants? The boats to WL and FW are full of people going to dinner and back to MK. Would you suggest they shouldn't? If I have an ADR at DTD after a day at MK, I'd like to use the easiest transport method to get there.

ADR at which restaurant, and at what time, and on which date?

Still making plans for August, not sure of details at this point. But when I saw this thread, I figured I'd follow. Thought this might be a good option for getting to DTD after MK. Yes, we're staying at POFQ and could just do the boat ride, but I find that sometimes can take for...ev...er to get to DTD! Just looking at options! Didn't realize it was an issue to possibly go to SSR and walk from there.

It depends on WHERE you're going at DTD as to whether the SSR bus will be an asset.
It also matters what time you're going.
(The date figures into crowd levels and timing.)

But is it frowned upon to do this? I just thought it was like transportation between any of the resorts---whether it's for an ADR, to resort hop, etc.

I guess I can see where this could be annoying as a SS guest, didn't really think about that. Plans to go to DTD aren't definite, and we may go back to our resort to freshen up first anyway if we decide to go. Thanks everyone :)

SSR is our home resort and we always request Congress Park when we stay there because of its proximity to DTD.

I have never noticed the buses to SSR being any more crowded that to any other resort we stay at. I just don't think that many people are aware of how close the walk is.

It's hard to describe how long the walk from CP to DTD is because that depends a lot on your walking pace. But, I think it's safe to say that it is shorter than the walk from the American Adventure to the front of the World Showcase. The new walking bridge makes the walk even shorter and the boat dock with the boats to the West Side is along the bridge.

I think taking the bus to Congress Park and walking to DTD is clearly the quickest way to get there, especially if you walk at a decent pace. As a general rule, I like to minimize the number of transportation changes I have to make.

Disney transportation is for everyone.

No, it isn't frowned upon. Disney transportation is available for everyone to use.

There was a boat 2 years ago when we were there. You can also take a bus, I think it is the same one as one of the water parks. When we were there the path was under construction so we could not use it
