MK Rope Drop breakfast ideas?

We're hoping to Rope Drop at MK during our next trip. We'd like to have a table service breakfast before the park opens, and (honestly) before the lines for rope drop get bad. We'll have a car, so traveling to a restaurant before the buses start running isn't a problem.

Right now all I can think of is: Wave breakfast at CR, served at California Grill location, Wilderness Lodge Whispering Canyon, Kona Cafe (but with the monorail not working we'd have to take a boat to MK, right?) or something at Grand Floridian.

Any recommendations? What am I missing?

Honestly, I don’t know what time the various MK region restaurants open but it’s easy to check My Disney’s dining page and find out. You’ll want to check the following nearby resorts: Contemporary, Poly, and GF.

Keep in mind since you are driving that I’m pretty sure MK parking is located back at the TTC which might negate the want of a car.

ETA: you also need to check what time the boats start running.

So, if I'm having breakfast at GF, I can't park there, eat breakfast, and then go into the MK? I'd have to eat there, leave, drive out to MK parking, walk to the TTC, and then take a boat past the hotel where I was to get to MK?

Yes. ADR's allow for three hours of resort parking, I believe, not all day.

If you want to RD I would just get to MK early and skip the breakfast. You cannot leave your car at the hotel for the day, so as PP said you would need to eat and then move your car to TTC, which would put you behind the crowds.

This sounds like the best plan - leave the car at Beach club, eat something in our room, and take the first bus we can get. I'd prefer to have a real breakfast but it isn't worth the hassle. Thanks!

There is a recent thread here on the Ale & Compass at Yacht Club, someone said they did mobile order for breakfast.

I'm not sure any breakfast inside Disney resorts opens early enough to comfortably make (MK) rope drop....unless you have an in-Park reservation that starts before rope drop at Cinderella's (or Akerhaus, or Tusker House).

And right now, I do not believe there are any restaurants open in the Parks prior to rope drop either.

Kona & Wave are the best chance (Wave, because you can walk without transportation delay) - open at 7:30. Get seated, order immediately, ask for check.....even getting to 9am rope drop is tight because you'd be in the back of that pack - which is not a winning strategy if trying to make rope drop.

If we 'have to' rope drop - we plan accordingly with in-room breakfast and plan for an early sit-down lunch.

You can get waffles and coffee at Sleepy Hollow in the park after you do a few things.

That’s the strategy I always use. Hit RD rides then head to Sleepy Hollow for some Mickey Waffles. Trying to do TS before RD is tough.

Here’s a possibility that might work out for you: give Disney a call and see if room service is offered. According to this link it’s being served at YC and might be at BC by the time you get there.

Our strategy is to have a light breakfast before leaving for the parks. Then we are usually hungry for an early lunch. This allows us to take advantage of RD AND beat the lunch rush crowds. I pack a box of protein bars and the kids get pastries at the resort. I know this doesn't work for all families, but it's another option to consider.

You have a car why not leave the bubble and eat off-site for breakfast that morning?

You could start your morning by rope dropping MK, ride a couple of rides and then walk or monorail to the Contemporary. Enjoy breakfast at the Wave and then walk back to MK
