I'll be heading to Disney in May and I'll be around 21 weeks pregnant and this is my first pregnancy. We are staying for 5 days and the only park we are going to is MK for one day so there will be plenty of resting and relaxing. I see that the list of rides you shouldn't ride according to Disney but were there any you would skip even though it's safe for pregnant women. Maybe a ride that was just a little too uncomfortable after you were already on it for a minute and you can't turn back now? Thanks!

I was about 3 weeks pregnant when we went and I didn't know it and I rode EVERYTHING. Plus drank around Epcot...a lot (Food and Wine Festival). What I would have avoided had I known would have been things like Space Mountain & BTMRR. Most everything at MK is pretty tame. Depending on how much you have popped, rides with lap bars (most of them) may be a little uncomfortable.

I would probably stay off the "coasters", Space, Splash, Thunder. The 7 Dwarfs?? 21 weeks is generally a pretty safe time in pregnancy, but if it will make you uncomfortable (ie - sitting on a hard bench in the Tikki room for 10 min) you might avoid it. And go for anything air conditioned!!

The rides I would have avoided during pregnancy would be any rollercoaster (so the Mountains and Barnstormer). I'd also avoid Stitch's Great Escape, just because the shoulder harness can be so tight. Otherwise, I'd ride everything else.

eta: I went to MK at 7 months pregnant and rode everything else while avoiding the above.

I went on everything at 15 weeks that did not have a warning. The drop on Pirates freaked me out a bit after we went down it, but other than that I was okay with all the rides I went on.

Having personally experienced a miscarriage that was unexplained and not brought on by any reason but suspected chromosomal abnormalities, I would not ride anything with a restriction. Hopefully you will have other trips to experience with your new child, when you are not preggers and they are tall enough to ride those coasters... There are a good number of arguments for and against riding these "tame" roller coasters while pregnant, but personally, for my peace of mind, I would do anything to protect and nurture my pregnancy.

Besides, there is so much to do at MK that is not a risk... Dole Whips, Small World, Cop, the People Mover... these are my personal favorites, but you get the gist... Enjoy that special time in your life and know that those "thrill" rides will be waiting!

FYI... This topic has been discussed again, and again, and again here on the boards. It can get heated. In the end do what makes you most comfortable...

Good advice, but I think the OP was asking for any rides to avoid in addition to the ones that Disney already advises against.

I am not sure if the Tomorrowland Speedway is on Disney's list of ones not to ride, but the gas smell over there can get pretty strong. Have fun and and enjoy your time together before you have to push a stroller on your next trip (but it will be soooo worth it when you take your little one ).
