Why is there so few nice sit-down restaurants at MK?? I mean there is the Castle (never been, but seems great), Tony's (fair), and LTT (don't really think Thanksgiving food is all that great). When you consider that MK is the flagship park (plus it usally is open later then the other parks) and you compare it to EPCOT, an amazing selection, and MGM, decent selection, I wonder why MK is so limited. Could it be the lack of alcohol at MK, most people including myself think that a nice glass of wine complements a great meal and Disney realizes people may not want to shell out the big bucks for a nice meal if there is no alcohol avaliable. Or is there no space to put a new/nice rest in MK? Couldn't you imagine a cool "modern" restaurant overlooking Tommorowland or an "exotic" restaurant in the middle of Adventureland?

What do you all think??

Mk also has the Plaza for full service and Crystal Palace for those looking for a character buffet. Comparable to MGM I think.

Epcot is different I think since trying the cuisine of the countries is one more aspect of visiting them.

BTW, LTT is a la carte at lunch and offers good sandwiches and salads. :sunny:

I have often wondered this myself ..

but we do enjoy lunch at LTT. They have great sandwiches.

I wonder the same thing. MK is the most popular park; why don't they have a better restaurant selection?

Why doesn't MK serve alcohol? Is there a reason for this?

I don't think they serve alcohol to keep it "kid friendly"--

We have wondered this too--why no where nice and GOOD to eat?? They could do so much theming-wise!! It seems like they are missing the boat and Disney doesn't do that very often. HMMMM.....

Would love to see something like Tangeriene Cafe in Adventureland or restaraunts themed around movies---that would really draw in a crowd--like Tony's--too bad it's not any good, since it is the cutest theme MK has to offer.

I think it problary has alot to do with it being so busy, no one wants to sit down for a long dinner to much stuff to do JMO

I've read that the MK doesn't serve alcohol because that is the way Walt Disney wanted it both at DL and WDW. I think it is great that his wishes are still respected. There are many restaurants that do serve alcoholic beverages just a short monorail ride away.

MGM has HBD, MM, Sci-Fi, 50's Prime Time and Hollywood & Viine (buffet).

MK has CRT, LTT, Tony's, Plaza, and Crystal Palace (buffet).

Those two parks have an even count.

AK has no table service restaurants although Rain Forest is just outside.

The Magic Kingdom doesn't seem to be hurting for attendance. :teeth:
