A two-part question:

1. Which restaurant would you choose to celebrate a birthday at the Magic Kingdom?

2. Which restaurant have you celebrated a birthdy at and what did they do?

Part of my review from a MK birthday day on May 22:

"We ate dinner at CRT. MANY guests were celebrating birthdays that night. They seemed to have the birthday people seated along the windows. Birthday tables included Mickey head confetti and a crepe paper streamer.
My sister ordered the Roasted "Airline" Chicken Breast - on a bread pudding of spinach and garlic with red onion marmalade. (Mostly because she wanted to try the bread pudding.)
To me the chicken did not look that great. But she thought it all was VERY good, esp the bread pudding.
I meant to ask for the recipe, but I forgot.
DH and I each ate Lamb Shank - 4 hour braised lamb shank on root mash garnished with mint fig jam.
That was VERY good. The lamb came looking like a small turkey leg! And the meat was fall off the bone tender and very flavorful!
They also gave my sister a small chocolate mini cake. (More like a cupcake, only dome shaped.) She did not eat much of that. She said the cake from Cosmic Ray's was better!
We all three shared one Celebration slipper dessert. It looks sickening sweet, but it is not. It was sweet, but JUST RIGHT. Very creamy and flavorful. Good fresh fruit too."

Getting the (free) Birthday button at Guest Services was a big help too. :)

Who is the birthday for? We'll be celebrating dd's 9th birthday at CRT before MVMCP. I can't imagine a better place for a little girl to celebrate a birthday than in a the castle but if it was my ds's birthday I'd probably pick LTT because he's fascinated with the period in history that it's themed after and he would hate having his birthday in Cinderella's castle.

We celebrated at LTT at lunchtime. They decorated the table with pixie dust and little streamers. Plus we got a small cake for about $10.

We just returned from celebrating my 40 something birthday (two adults - boyfriend and myself). We had lunch in MK in the castle. We had Mickey confetti on the table, they brought out a little cake with a candle and I received a Magical Memories Certificate. The night before my birthday we at at 'Ohana (my favorite) and we received a mini cake with a candle and CM's singing Happy Birthday. We also ate at LeCellier and I beleive this was the best desert I received. They wrote Happy Birthday on the plate with chocolate and in the middle was a hard chocolate shell filled with chocolate mouse and rasberries and blueberries. I also received a birthday card from the staff. All in all, this was the best birthday I believe I have ever had.

For my DS's 12 b-day in August, we are doing Crystal Palace for breakfast, LTT for lunch and Whispering Canyon for dinner. Oink, oink, I know! The WCC is a suprise (he loves that place). I just hope they humiliate him and not ME!!

Sounds like fun. Nothing wrong with eating on your birthday. Don't know if you signed up on Ghiradelli website yet but if you sign him up and put his birthday in you get a coupon emailed to you for buy one sundae get one free your birthday month. Unfortunately, I was never able to get it - everytime we were in Downtown Disney we were just too stuffed.
